The one who started this thread is really annoying. I don't know what got into the mind of making such a question. Pardon me but it's a silly query. Anyway, might as well enjoy giving my POVs.

Erap is part and parcel of the entire gov't system. A system having a chronic illness: CORRUPTION. A system that is corrupt and corrupting and had been existing long before Erap came to power and I firmly believe, much even before the birth of Erap, that corruption has already been intertwined within the entire system. Kawawang Erap. Blame it on the people who are corrupt and corrupting... not just the politicians... businessmen? tax collectors? how about ourselves? have we not cheated... blame it on laws which are constructed to be so good but without any teeth at all... because the implementors of these laws have been corrupted. it's really the entire system... it's not just Erap himself... they are many of them... plenty of them... and the people who are tolerating all of these things... as the dogma says: IF YOU CANNOT BEAT THEM, JOIN WITH THEM...

.. it's way back to Manuel Quezon. America was offering the philippines to be one of it's state but the stupid and greedy Quezon said: i'd rather see the philippines run like hell by filipinos than run like heaven by americans. But he forgot to notice that he's wearing an american suit and he said those in english. Such a wise crack and so narrow-minded. He wasnt thinking of the future. Worst president ever.

it's all in the plan. and I'm not even religious. that's just a fulfillment of a plan. when we were still with the Spaniards, we were bought by America from them. I can't get the exact figure but America bought us from the hands of the Spaniards. Then our folks started to screw with the Americans who saved them from the Spaniards. I know it doesn't make any sense but did you even wonder why? the revolt was led by Emilio Aguinaldo who was by the way a Freemason(on sight). The Americans who were tasked to save Philippines from Spain were mostly Freemasons(if not all). So, masons against masons? no Sir! but that's just the way it had to be. I know it's too hazy and too complicated but there's one thing I can assure you. we will get by and someday soar again. Soon, koreans will play pinoy telenovelas extensively on their local TV's.
who's to blame? no one! problema gud nato, mangita man gyud tag someone to blame. escape goat ba. sige lang. okay ra na. Quezon sucks? fine. okay ra gihapon na. but remember, he only played a role. and by the way, Quezon was a Freemason too. Basta relax lang. We are just undergoing a "process". Philippines is such a young country. Every great nation has to undergo a phase called depression. Have you seen America during depression? have you seen Ireland during the dark days? or France? or Europe in general? we all have to go through some sh*t!
we just got to have hope and just stop throwing craps. pero lami mas sad gud nang naa tay pahungawan sa atong frustrations sa? it's just a bit sad that we existed in this era of political and economical turbulence.

The United States "never" wanted the Philippines to become part of the Union, so stop embarrassing yourself and the country.

*One more thing, Filipinos here in America are invisible minority and a lot of people will say "What is a Filipino?" Funny thing is, Filipinos were one of the first asians to step foot on American soil but it seem the Chinese, koreans, viets, thai, japanese, indians are more mainstream and well known in the US than Filipinos which is sad!
