why Cebu don't have a Train?

There was already a thread about this in the Politics and Current Events section. A congressman was drafting a bill for a BRT in Cebu. The thread was kinda taas though so I did not read through all the posts so I don't know what happened now. You might wanna check it for reference.

Well we can't even afford to fix simple road problems. So I doubt if we'd be able to afford a train and maintain it.

cause Cebu doesn't really need it yet..

for a start the upkeep is very expenssive, i dont think the govt can afford maybe during the first couple years but eventually due to too much corruption i dont think they will be able to maintain the mechanical and technical expenses of the train,it'll maybe cheaper for many to use a train like in manila but railways are just very expenssive to maintain . corruption is very big in philippines, those trains if they ever build one i dont think it will even last long,itll end up rusty and rotten.

If any place in the world desperately needed a proper rail network that place would be the Philippines. The jeepney system of public transportation is inadequate and unsustainable not to mention environmentally unsound.
