foshow, thanks for the suggestion. If I end up not being satisfied with the Xonar even after trying out different opamps, I'll consider trying another soundcard out and give the Xonar to my son. As for the headphones, salamat. I'll look into it when the time to buy one comes. ^_^

@BeoR: If your really planning to go all out with a full size headphone bro try also looking up on the Audez'e LCD-2 which I think is a really worth it alternative to the HD 800.. read up on it you might find the sound signature a bit more appealing than the HD 800's.

x2, save for the soundstage, I believe its the best can before you consider electrostats. I find the LCD2 immensely enjoyable.
