This shot was taken from a Soyuz spacecraft, the ISS' emergency escape vehicle, during an undock-dock maneuver that occurred last May 2011.
Like what Stew said, this is the first time that both shuttle and ISS have been photographed in one shot, with the shuttle docked with the station.I've seen this scene so many times in Orbiter Space Flight Simulator (after I've docked), that when you see the real deal, you almost tend to take it for granted
