Silent naman ang WD Green kanang 20EARS unit.

@EarlZ: Not malas sir. Its the quality of their products. Think about Samsung one of the large best manufacturer of appliances how come they now have HDD product? so that they can enter and compete to the computer technology? I'm pretty sure they've just outsourced their HDD manufacturing like what they have on their Memory Modules they have it outsourced from TAIWAN called Jeylin Welcome to Jeylin 傑翎股份有**公司. Meaning they don't originally manufacture.

Anyway, lets make it short....most user feedback about Samsung HDD's are not good and you know that! but for me I'll stay away using that brand coz its crap. When you say western digital SABA? I don't think so coz most of my WD HDD's are very quiet and still kicking.

@freelancetech - timingX2 rasad cguro bro kay I'm using an F3 man sad ron so far so good and my friends probably have more than a dozen f3 units nga still kicking with no problems na for over a year na.

Sa freight mana cguro ma daot ang mga hardware especially the hdd and videocards, kay ang mga kargador diri di man mu paki og fragile nga label. Kita gyud ko anang mag diskarga or mag hatod sa supplies sa shops. e pang itsa raman, those hi end cases and lcd monitors ma tipak lagi, mao btw mostly mga taw nga mu buy hi end stuff di gyud sa retail stores, kay kulata kaayo na ang unit sa shipping palang.

Maybe its a quality issue before the F series, I've gotten probably more than 20+ of those drives sa F1 series palang only a single return kay DoA, sa F3 wala pa gyud maski isa.

Im wondering unsa nga samsung harddrive naa kay experience, how many years ago was that? On my side ang F1 ug F3 ra akong experience nila.

You need to know a LOT more about samsung though in terms of what they manufacture, for memory modules samsung is the leading manufacturer of those they manufacture the actual modules, the link you posted is about a 3rd party company thats responsible for PCB making/printing.

"most" user feedback? Do you have any statistical data that I can look at to verify this? If you goto other forums the F3 is widely recommended.

Noise on WD drive is subjective to the user, environment and product being compared to. These things are a bit hard to discuss over if 1.) hearing is bad/impaired 2.) your environment is noisy 3.) expectation , but it primarily boils down to what you have compared it with. I respect your opinion and I would surely not push a specific brand for you, besides seagate already controls the harddrive division for samsung as they are now purely focusing on flash based storage.
