Salamat Tikyo and dbgg.
First problem kay dili na ko kanaug bro, i was actually the same height as Mt bromo and ubos ana Sea of Sands Valley (I'll check sa akong photos if naa koy makahoy sa sea of sands).
For sure dangerous siya kung magpaduol ka more. Dangerous pud sa imong camera kay abog, aso and usahay uwanan ka ug ash.
Few minutes before the eruption Mt bromo was calm so we took photo of this sunrise. If I am the reference, mao ni akong atubangan, while ang likod si Mt. Bromo.

My comments on this photo. The elements in this photo are competing for attention. The tree? Or the Volcano on the background. There's nothing interesting about the tree yet it is occupying a big part of the photo. The photo could be telling us about the destructive power of nature (volcano erupting) but that doesn't seem to be the cause to whatever happened to the tree in the foreground.
I'd rather use those dead(?) foliage (lower left corner) as foreground to support the message of how destructive nature can be. Or the green foliage on the lower right corner as foreground to support the message that no matter what, life will always find a way.
Then again, if I was there with you, I'll probably be overwhelmed by the scene and just shoot like crazy haha![]()
