You're not evil. Like everyone else, we are homo sapiens with instincts inherited from our primate ancestors. Our morality is a learned morality, a developing morality...not cast in stone. We learn with what works while living with each other and pass them on. The future generation will face different moral dilemmas and they too should be allowed to review our moral codes. We cannot hang on to Bronze Age moral codes and enforce them as absolutes...unless you want women dress up in beekeeper suits under a Taliban-esque moral code.
* petite fleur, you should include verse 14 because that goes together with verse 15...to understand what the Bible says about the devil
Of all the theistic answers, only petite fleur got the right Bible passage on what the devil is. Christians normally infer from Ezekiel what the devil is: A FALLEN ANGEL (the anointed cherub). Christians shouldn't try to invent their own interpretations of evil, like that urban myth about Einstein's answer to a professor that cold is the absence of heat...that's not the Christian tradition's concept of the devil.Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Here's the best Bible passage on this topic:
Isaiah 14:12-17
Devils, demons, jinns, gods, fairies, witches, unicorns...as an atheist, I hold no belief of the supernatural. It just doesn't fit into what I understand about nature and how it works. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
Having said that, here's a dilemma posed by Epicurus (Greek philosopher 341 BCE – 270 BCE), to which I haven't heard a satisfactory answer from any theist:
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?
^^nailed it bro! I'm also interested how they counter that.
I am not against religion but I don't subscribe to any as well. Does that make me satanic? Hardly. If one doesn't believe in god, how can he believe, much more worship, satan? C'mon people.
I also noticed on the way they answer that they don't even agree on 'where evil comes from'. Some says he is a fallen angel while others claim it is the absence of god. I don't know where is more acceptable.![]()

OT: Kani si TS, kada minuto siguro ni siya hasolon sa iyang konsensya tungod sa iyang pagsupak-supak sa kabubut-on sa Dios. To counter the guilt he feels, he creates anti-GOD thread like this one.
TS, kun kumbinsido gyud ka sa imong pagtoo nga WALAY DIOS, have a peace of mind. GOD won't come any time to punish you because HE DOESN'T EXIST, right? So relax and learn to respect others' belief.
TS is the manifestation of evil..
Horns Up!! \,,/\,,/
You are answering your own thread. This clearly shows you are trying to debunk the bible. Nice try. Hahaha.
That sentence you quoted is correct.
Let me tell you a bed time story.
ONCE UPON A TIME. GOD CREATED ANGELS.
THEN, AN ANGEL REBELLED AGAINST GOD. WHICH IS SATAN or The DEVIL. THE END.
The evil origin comes from those angels that rebelled god. Those angels are GOD'S CREATION.
Did man always have the ability to choose between good and evil? Yes! Man was placed in the Garden of Eden (cf. Genesis 2:15). GOD ALSO PLACED THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL IN THE GARGEN (cf. GENESIS 2:9). God commanded man not to eat from this tree (cf. Genesis 2:17). This was the choice that man had to make: be good and not eat from the tree; or, be evil and eat from the tree. The choice was always there.
AND YOU TS NEED TO READ MORE.
