Thread: Comic Book Talk

    Well, at least Superman didn't need Mephisto to undo a marriage. IMO, I shuddered with the thought that Marvel was retconning Spidey's marriage. I still don't agree with the method, but I've enjoyed the current Spidey stories more compared to the married Spidey. JMS did a pretty cool job during his AMS run but it felt like that version of Spidey was very dark.

    This relaunch could do the same for Superman. Morrison did an awesome job with All-Star Superman and if there's somebody who could breathe new life on the character. Now, if only Frank Quitely worked faster...

    I bet the Morrison's Superman isn't even Clark Kent. It's actually Bizarro wanting to live a normal life. Why would they hide his face under the shadow of a truck? It's definitely Bizarro. Superman (temporarily) lost his memories and is stuck as Clark Kent. DC will re-invent Superman by turning him into Clark Kent, refocusing the readers' attention to his human side rather than showing off with new powers (or costumes). That way new readers will be attracted to Superman the "man" instead of Superman the superhero.

    I know this because I read a lot of comics.

    **** this. Wally West is gone.

    Q: “I’m here to still talk about Wally West…”

    DiDio “okay…”

    Fan: “Last year you said you took Wally off the table so Barry could be the sole focus, and now you’re still saying that again.”

    DiDio “We did say that last year cause we did want to build Barry Allen up as much as possible, and this year with the relaunch even more so”

    Fan “How does that work when you have four robins running around?”

    DiDio “I think we could do that with all the characters” He ended the conversation by saying “I think we’ll be sticking with Barry for awhile.”

    @vemp LOL shut up. Let's save your fan-fiction for something else. Here's the actual cover for Action #1.

    @endlessknight I completely agree. It's about where he's going.

    @Blackbeard

    Yeah I guess it's kinda sad that we don't have a lot of Wally action, coz Barry is a little boring, imo. But don't worry about it. He'll be back eventually. And we can always just go back and read the old stuff. That's still good. I'd rather have good old stories than crappy new ones.

    I agree. Although I haven't really understood the appeal of The Flash to it's fans. I always thought their characters to be goofy and non-threatening. A man who has an ice-gun? A boomerang? Perhaps I've been reading the wrong books. Or haven't read enough Flash.
