What's your favorite book and why?

sa mga novels, usa sa akoang pinaka-favorite sa kalibutan kay ang All The King's Men by Robert Penn Warren. believe me, the first few pages alone will get you hooked! sus grabe gisingot jud kog binasa, mura gikan ko nagworkout kay nafeel jud nako ang nafeel sa character, ang naobserbahan niya, ang naexperienced niya, etc. nindot pagkasuwat sa story, maayo pagkasuwat sa prose. basta this novel is deep.

I have quite a couple of books in my favorites list, but the closest to my heart is I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. I don't know... I guess it's how the author describes the architecture and landscape of certain places, how the main characters themselves mention and have a discussion about books, fictional characters, and classical music. I guess it also helps that there are simple ink drawings every chapter, ones that I never grow tired looking at trying to determine if my imagination matches the drawings. Just thinking about the story, the physical appearance of the book, gives me the feeling of being captured. Like I've been running away from something forever, but now I'm at peace and I surrender. This book, to me, has soul.
