ecs user here since birth sa akoa small time icafe.....so far it didn't gave me a headache......
I don't recommend this ECS brand. I have several friends using this for a while and it dies for no reason but failure component. This ECS totally crap....waste of money and time.
nice man ang ECS naka use q ani na brand sa mobo no probs..
funny most of you are talking about disregarding customer/warranty service as a factor for a reliable brand but naa koy gakakita nga brand ginasuggest perminti diri sa hardware section all because it has good warranty service. Abi kay ECS good customer service does not count pero if laing brand ok ra?

ako lipay ra ko sa amu pc's sa shop nga ECS boards gipanggamit! 5 boards, duha ani kay 2 years kapin or more na! basic computing ra noun gamit...

Nindut naman ang ECS ron...
Yup, definitely agree with you on this one, bro. Some people just value Some other things too much, they forget the PC runs through a series of components and not on *cough* one specific power unit *cough* alone.
Anyway, I had bad experiences with ECS before... had a lot of breakdowns on some units. However, it was because they had a bad production run on that specific model (RMA was quick though). Same with every other company, if they have a bad model... they'd fail. I believe everyone's favourite power unit brand had that one also.
In the end, I still used ECS mobos (a lot of 'em really) when I built my brother's PCs for his business. And not one failed even though my bro's office had no airconditioning for 6 months+ and it was very dusty (it was situated along the highway); and barely used only generic PSUs for 6 months (before replaced with a true-rated one). Right now, all his ECS mobos are still alive and kicking... that's what, 3 years now.
TLDR = all companies make bad models once in a while; that's why there's a "Revision".

remember the bloating / leaking capacitor issue that started late 2003 and continues to plague until 2005?
link: PCs plagued by bad capacitors - CNET News
most mobo manufacturers have that issue even those branded desktops like dell and hp.
in the end the bad reputation goes to the mobo manufacturers / computer manufacturer when in fact the blame should be on the supplier of the capacitors
In fact, PCs from Hewlett-Packard and Apple Computer and other PCs using Intel motherboards have all faced similar issues, according to the companies, contractors and several online bulletin boards
Dell declined to identify any of its component suppliers but did say that despite periodic system shutdowns, data loss was not a factor in the workstation PCs with the faulty capacitors. Representatives with Apple and Intel also declined to comment on parts inside their systems.
Only HP would identify the maker of its faulty capacitors: Nichicon, of Kyoto, Japan.
Capacitors are an inexpensive little component on a PC motherboard, but they can be a costly headache for manufacturers when a whole bunch of them go bad.
I totally agree with you, bro Siopao.
But my point trying to stretch is that "good customer service / quick RMA" is definitely a big plus in Motherboards...that goes for other components as well. Apparently, most beg to argue that it's a big CON instead of a PRO in selecting mobos.
