Default child abuse, rape and incest

"Honor Thy Mother and Father" what comes to mind is a command or law to honor and respect your parents. To me it doesn't quite read/associated/interpreted as "Thou Shall Not Have *** with Family or Close Relatives" - Incest…which could possibly be a more relevant commandment of the the Big Ten.
The commandments on the BIBLE doesnt need to be more specific on the context of its premises..unlike the Constitution in which the articles were detailed by a corresponding sections...when the commandment said to *Honor Thy Mother and Father* then it was refering to a general concept of doing good to your parents..doing good could be [avoid incest, dont berate, dont revolt..blah blah blah]...my point here is, dont read the words of the Bible between the lines..there might be words in there that have postive in meaning but to some atheist, whiners, pessimist and naysayers are the other way aorund..then eventually they will use it to discredit its credibility....and also dont associate every words of the bible to a one sided meaning since u cant anticipate what GOD must had in mind when giving that commandment....

exactly. bear in mind incest does not only involves *** between a parent and a child...it also involves *** betweeen brothers/sisters, immediate cousins, uncles, nephews, nieces.

yes. let's take for example "honor thy father and mother", i won't read it between the lines...therefore, to me this simply means honor your parents... no matter what...even if they beat their kids to death, rape 'em, verbally abuse 'em, even if you don't have one - an orphan, or even if they have abondoned their child...it doesn't necessarily constitute to "do not have *** with your siblings, cousins, uncles, nieces and nephews".

dang!..we're going round-n-round here already...i emphasize my meaning of honor above and i'll reiterate it again here that the bible [IMO] was refering to honor as the general concept of doing good..and i dont give a damn if u as an atheist perceive it as a one sided meaning of doing good...

did i say otherwise? based on your explanation above...*honor thy father and mother* is a general concept of doing good to your parents...and i agree. but is not necessarily associated/categorized/intrepreted (i'm not reading between the lines here) with *do not have *** with your parents, siblings, cousins, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces* - incest.

yeah! you have your point... still...if these women does not want our help in the first place... like "mind your own business" they may say... perhps our need is needed somewhere else or by somebody else... we can't help everybody though... if they don't want to help themselves...then we can't help them. unfortunate!

you see, not all of us are willing to be help for all the reasons in the world... heck, i don't even know where to start... which is unfortunate... perhaps like the professionals... they feel helpless... and they don't want it to be slapped at their faces that they needed help.... much to say HELPLESS.

as said... these women are not uneducated nor unaware... simply its a humilation on their part if made public that a person with their position/status is as vulnerable as those who lived as a commonly ordinary...

as here in cebu a certain doctor of good stature got home where he just learned his daughter raped and all... why, did it ever got off the public? hey... for these people- they have a name to maintain...this kind of situation is just tooo scandalous... and believe me... he gave my ma a wrong blood type...and he has been nice to US! kasi my father has also a reputation-oi, di mi datu pareha ani sa docs ha! ...it's just that if my father question theseeeeeee.... it would affect to the extent... destroying the man's name in the medical industry!

    gets? no? :8O: well...

For the topic of this thread, effective help is immediately available at Lihok Pilipina (look for Ms. Tessie Fernandez, executive director) and Children's Legal Bureau (look for Atty. Dympna Joan Saniel, executive director)

The victims all need help from professionals. They do not need help from kibitzzers.

to this, i could not agree even more...

anyway as to the thread... talking bout it... hay! well... thou honoring thy parents:

honor thy father and mother", i won't read it between the lines...therefore, to me this simply means honor your parents... no matter what..
however... everybody's has their own frame of mind, regardless...though many of us do simply take as it is... there are also many amongst us, take it another way around... and to the extent...

have *** with your parents, siblings, cousins, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces* - incest..
taking it all to extreme as a way of escaping logic,a total bluff to what i believe... simply couldn't resist temptation... fundamentally...LUST...

its nice for someone to ever take the time to bring these out... we cant really expect people to be of the same point of views... yes... disgusting, but as we look deeper into our society... or in any other societies... its prevalent...

i'm not trying to read in between lines here... just want to give insight or my view to whosoever gave an interpretation of this particular commandment.... yes.. it posts so much disturbance but i think its good for me to be aware of it because in my world it may not exist but in many other family, it could be basically what they observe or believe... totally upsy-turvy.... but heck... it does exist! as the media do exposures on these seen on t.v or read in print (newspapers...) i can't ignore such thinking coz... the family next door may be among them... or anyone...

as for these things to exist... drug addiction is another alibi...and so much more... yeah these people are sick ... and something must be done

professional help would have been great but most of this people just stay quiet because they are afraid of the humiliation the family gets.

some people are more worried on what "others" has to say instead of getting help for the wellness of their being...very smart indeed.

    ano ba yan?

can't question it kulasa!... it's their choice and hopefully one day they'll realize the importance...

what matters the most is that we air out our side and come to respect their decision... and hopefully with this(respecting each other), we build goodwill and trust so these people will have the courage to go out and flaunt... having us-people as support- if they'll ever perceive flaunting as humiliation!

and help those who needed help! we can't think that everybody needs help...we can start with this...

anyway not all of us smart though!
