If you own your own business like it's a guaranteed thing? LOL what BS!

There is no such thing as Job security...

But that doesn't mean that it's impossible to be financially secured.

nope it no longer exists unless imo job gamay ra kaayo makabuhat and dili ka dali dali mailisan, ma human replacement or machine replacement.

    a good example,

    accounting software = less accountants
document reader for lawyers = less lawyers(tinood ni)
    or cheap labor from China.

a lot of people now have 2 jobs instead of one so ang mga new grads maglisod ug panggapply kay naggunit gihapon ang mga tiguwang sa position.

and since daghan new grads who are willing to work hard for longer hours and cheaper pay, daghan pud pwede ipa-early retirement. Unsa man ato buhaton if 45 nata, ipa-early retirement, nya pagkahurot sa kwarta, mga batan-on ato kaatbang sa job interview nya mo dive ug entry level pay? hehehe

so prepare lang jud ta, but that is another topic as stated by TS.

No such thing likes job security.. much prefer do a big savings and find a bigger company.

P.s even big company closes. so good luck in finding jobs.
GMA - Good Question - "WE" cannot do anything if a company closes because of bankruptcy. Neither will your big savings guarantee your financial future, one major illness - God forbid, everything is gone...finding a big company - means dependence and reliance-goes back to the first sentence. "WE" - you and I and the rest can make a difference if you know how. How, is another thread.

Good idea Eve, on the other hand, brings to mind that you can also lose your own business, how would you protect your interest, your turf, your territory?

Another good idea but dangerous, - making your way out of the rat race. if you move out you can get trampled just like the race track. You will cut into someone's path. Again it goes back to the power of "WE", think of it like a relay...and how this will benefit us...

Metz, the salary in china is not that cheap when I compared it to the minimum wage - furniture industry. The advantage of china is the way they work, thinking and every thing they do, focus on - efficiency and productivity coupled with economies of scale.

"so prepare lang jud ta", because OPPORTUNITY ALWAYS COME TO THE ONE WHO IS PREPARED. But what to prepare?

It doesn't mean you can't try. You still have your job while trying to get out of the rat race. if you get trampled upon, stand up and do it again.

are you basing this on legit shops? or from Chinese sweat shops?
Hinoon inflation is rising in China and it will drive salaries higher.

As for preparation, then savings rajud na. Kay unsaon man nato ang opportunity kung wala tay kwarta to grab it? If a job opportunity, you don't need money unless para gawas, but job ra gihapon.

If a person is dependent on his job as a source of income then he/she is in a big trouble.

Should find a way to get another sources of income such as part time / freelance, business, investment or any passive income.
I really agree on this one.
