western countries are on the bigger risk? are u serious? we are on the bigger risk because our population is increasing, our food production is not growing much, the quality of education is declining, and our place is getting more polluted every hour. what i mean when is said that the western countries population is lower than our is the density of a country interms of population(no. of people/ total land area). bigger countries may have bigger population than ours but the real basis is the density of the population of the country. the population in our country is already very dense, far more denser than those of western countries and our resources may not cope up with the demands in the years to come. western countries have enough of their needs and has found ways to maximize the use of their available resources. japan may have a dense population but they have the technology to balance the effect of their high population. there are already many technologies developed to help minimize the consuption of our resources just like recycling and research for new alternative materials. our population is growing at 2% annual and with that rate, our population may double in the next 30yrs. if you are living in the city, just imagine 30yrs from now when the total number of people living in it doubles. it could even look worse than the today' s squatters area in manila. what more to those squatters area in manila 30yrs from now
