I find this thread really funny basing on the replies of some people here.

I listen to Dream Theater, LTE, Jordan Rudess, Kevin Moore, Black Light Syndrome and the like . In fact, DT's my favorite band. But having that does not give me a license to diss this sub-sub-sub-sub genre. Emo ain't that bad. I love Thursday. I listen to At The Drive In, The Used, and Glassjaw.

A genre is being created to classify the type of music being created. But that does not change music as a whole.

yes, yes, emo is still a genre. I just hate all the hype that surrounds it. I used to listen to the used & glassjaw too, but nowadays radio's really saturated with tons of "the used clones" (not that i'm saying they spearheaded the genre) that it only makes me gag. Nonetheless, Blue & Yellow is still classic.

Anyway, it's kind of funny that you had to name the prog line-up though. hehe. no offense.
