di ang religion uie..ang mga taw ang PEST
And thus Organized Religion was born
Sir Rods you and the rest of the atheists here (way labot tong jokers) ALWAYS fascinates me....I'm ever been an open minded person..but I guess I got hooked up in my beloved religion which by the way I will never forsake no matter how convincing other scientific / philosophical ideas might be....And I guess I just contradicted myself right nowand that is what being HOOKED UP means

im sure sir it wasnt from religion as all religions differ from one another..the knowledge of distingushing whats right from wrong is innate us.you dont have to have a religion to know whats right from wrong.
anyways here's the best answer i think to your question.
I think our knowledge of right and wrong is innate in us. Religion gets its morality from humans. We know that we can't get along if we permit perjury, theft, murder, rape, all societies at all times, well before the advent of monarchies and certainly, have forbidden it... Socrates called his daemon, it was an inner voice that stopped him when he was trying to take advantage of someone... Why don't we just assume that we do have some internal compass?[5]- christopher hitchens
according to thomas dixon "Religions certainly do provide a framework within which people can learn the difference between right and wrong."[
if your a theist im sure you will argue and say that without god how will i know the difference between what evil and good? and how am i going to justify moral behaviour?
being an atheist sir, i dont wanna argue as i respect all religions, i only care about believing in morality, a meaning of life, or the human goodness and morality is possible without GOD.
the only problem about being an theist sir is that, yes you have faith in god but some religious people once they tend to be in hardships, they then go ask god for help and if they dont get the help they need, they will blame god for their badlucks? i have seen some religious people doing this.
being a theist, at least whatever i do in my life, i have no one to credit on my badlucks.i blame it to myself and charge it to experience. i dont pray hoping for a miracle or god to shower me blessings but i strive hard to get what i want. some religious people rely their lucks in god as for them god means miracles as i dont believe such thingbut i definately believe in man's goodness. i respect my friends for having a strong faith in god and i must say i admire their faith but it jsut doesnt apply to the way i was brought up.i have learnt that one should just believe in himself and not to anyone.
people tend to blame god for the bad things that happened but only a few thank him for the good things that happens. its all about "love one another" and ma solve na atong probelma sa religion but sometimes this is hard considering naa gyud mang personal sa ato-a
this is the very thing that i have always invoked here, that religion is a need..
even if it is made made, etc.. it is very necessary for survival..
Thats why i have said to the TS that his desire of exterminating religion might came from his inadequate understanding of the human person..
Though, the entirety of the religion per se is not the need but its consequential effects it give to its believers (someone to hold on to)..
OT: sir ikaw lang akoa gi quote kay i know dili ka close minded..![]()
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
