OnT: Mura'g sakto gyud nga Common Sense > Booksmart.

mao bitaw ni gi ingon ni albert eintein sir "Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school."-albert einstein.

so unsay point ani?ug maayo raka ug memorization sa eskwelahan, eventually as you get older makalimot na gyud ka sa imong nahibaloan so unsa naman mahabilin ani? dapat gyud lage eapply ang nakat-onan sa eskwelahan but most students dont do this, ang ilaha lang ang importante maka memorize sila para kapasar sa test kay hadlok mahagbong.how many students out there really nga gi apply in real life ang ilang nakat-onan?

eg nursing, perting daghana ug memorison, ang libro perting bagaa ug sige pa gyud ug test.dont expect nga for the rest of your life katong na memorize nimo magpabilin pa to sa imong memory OFC NOT! once makastart naka ug work ma realize nimo nga kadaghan subject sa nursing nga inig work nimo di gyud ma apply.usik-usik lang sa bayad tuition not to mention ga bug-at,bug-at lang ug additional tun-anan

for me still i choose common sense but it doesnt mean you dont have to study. reading, learning and applying what you have learn from school and outside school is a tool how you can strategies everything. life is a learning process and its a cycle. you need to learn inorder for you to do better in the next round.

again its a common sense, and its clear!

just my 2 cents worth of input!

Super sakto man kaayo ka ma'am.

    Then Common Sense > Booksmart.

    1. booksmart or common sense? if you say common sense
    2. do you think common sense is acquired or inborn?
    3. do you think everyone really has common sense? what do you think when someone say "BRIGHT MAN UNTA KA PERO BOGO LANG" does it mean he/she's academically smart but just doesnt have common sense?

    1. You don't have to choose between the two when you can have them both.
2 & 3. Let me answer you by this

Common sense is an inborn rational capacity (Reid)
It is an inborn ability to sense, judge or perceive situations; grows stronger over time
With education, common sense widens and strengthens. It is directly proportional to knowledge.

BRIGHT MAN UNTA KA PERO BOGO LANG- meaning di ka bright, bogo jud ka.
I don't really believe that there are people who are academically smart who does not have common sense. Their common sense maybe small but it does not mean that they don't have it.

    @KID

    2. Thomas Edison: Thomas Edison was labeled dumb and scatterbrain by his school teachers but he went on to become one of the world's greatest inventors and founded General Electric; one of the most powerful companies in the world.

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." – Thomas Edison

edison was a booksmart...with an application...he made thousands of experiments...3 thousand trials before he made the electric light.....the wizard of Menlo Park.....
common sense plus book smart = edison
    sakto jud ka!
    two thumbs up!

    MARIE

common sense is acquired with experience and education.
i agree with this, but more of enhanced and not acquired

You don't have to be a genius to succeed, you just have to use your brain. Those who are only good in academics are intelligent BUT they are not wise/smart. Intelligence differs from Wisdom.

If we use both education and common sense then we can succeed. If you only use common sense and believes that you don't need books then you will end up having little common sense. Don't misinterpret common sense of those who are successful from those who are ignorant. Yes there are people who have been able to succeed without even earning a degree but they don't rely purely on common sense. They have talent. Common sense plus talent (sales talk) = success.

    gmaroxram

common sense is what you need to survive.. being a booksmart is what you need to excel.
    precisely!

if you want to excel then educate yourself

I will summarize this in equations

Common sense + knowledge = success
common sense + talent = success

now you either have talent or you have education.. that's it
you basically can't succeed with common sense alone!

didto kos common sense...it's something you acquired when you learn things from experience....not all books contain what you need to learn..unsaon man nimo ng booksmart ka kung d ka streetsmart?

hhhmmmmm.. let me give some inputs.

    I don't think it's a choice between both.
Common Sense and Education should go together.

The problem arises if one don't know how to use them, or just too lazy to use them.

It's like having a tool to do a job.
    Common Sense: simple tools
    Education: complex machines.

Man: the user of the tool.

If man is not taught how to use them, he might end up cutting his head off.
Of course, one should know how to use simple tools first before complex machines.

But doesn't mean ato i-discredit ang complex machines.
