Not true. I am not so young as that and I have several businesses to oversee as well various financial obligations, employee welfare etc. My advice to anyone regardless of their age or background is "hang on to your principles" because there are those waiting (if given the chance) who will happily take away your liberty. Complacency is the enemy within.

I think the exact opposite is true from what he said, as people get older they stop being bleeding hearts and start to see things conservatively, e.g. in absolute terms. Yes, there is room for maneuvering but it should still be within the limits of the law.

No society that permits "flexibility of the law" can ever succeed. This is why the Philippines is the way it is, people bend the rules whenever they think it suits their thinking so long as they think its justifiable when what they should be doing is working to get the law changed first rather than violating it.

Even Gandhi who was an advocate of civil disobedience stuck to peaceful means of disobedience. These squatters were brandishing weapons and throwing rocks at the enforcing officers, that is lawless violence and no decent society would ever tolerate it. Do you think that in America, people who live in trailer parks can just go berserk and start attacking police officers and get away with it? No way, they would be beaten to the ground and made to respect the law as it should be in a country that has laws.

shish all that is being said here are just opinions, so why force things. as ive kept saying davao is davao ilaha nana. to all davaoenos just accept the fact that naa pud sayop ang iya gbuhat, duterte has proven herself a true leader in all sort of ways naman pud and lets give her credits for doing that and to those nga anti-duterte the mayor already admitted her mistakes so ngano inyo paman dab2an ang issue? that simple dba? how about we move on and think of something else nga dili boring? high blood naman ang uban diri gud. hehehe

we enjoy every bit of freedom that the rest of the philippines enjoy...

we are not slaves or robots...

we dont worship the dutertes, we love them, we respect them but we dont fear them.

Kong POLICE pani nanukmag dali rani ma suspenso, Karon kay MAYOR man nga gusto ug short cut nga systema instead of going to the judge to ask for 2hours delayed sa demolition gideritso sa COURT Sheriff kay kabalo ni ang MAYOR nga relatives niya ang JUDGE nga ang hatag sa ORDER. Justice should be served to every Filipino people. Malicious Mischief, Conduct of unbecoming Public Official, Obstruction of Justice and etc.

E set gyud nig example siya kay this is a very bad precedent. Ombudsman, DOJ, DILG this is your case. Every Public Officials should be accountable of her/his own actions.

The intention of the Mayor for asking for 2 hours is to prevent anyone from being hurt in a violent demolition. The Sheriff chose to use violence instead of going for the peaceful solution of the Mayor. People got hurt, including the policeman hit by Indian pana and those hit by rocks because of the sheriff's decision. So who hurt more people? the Mayor or the Sheriff? The Mayor was simply fighting back for those who had no chance against the superior force of the Sheriff. If the Sheriff waited for 2 hours, he would have accomplished the demolition just the same, but without the violence. While others may say that a wrong cannot be solved with another wrong, there are times when someone has to stand up against the bullies. Our Lady Mayor certainly had the balls to do that, unlike some other politicians i know. And she has the balls to accept the consequences of her action. unlike some people who look for other people to blame for their mistakes. Before we condemn her for what she has done, let's ask ourselves, what have WE DONE to make society better? Let those who have done more than Our Lady Mayor be the first to throw criticisms at her.
