Sound like you support brutality and don't care so much about the rule of law or equal rights. No wonder abuse of one kind or another is so commonplace when folks readily excuse and forgive those who should be leading by good example.

Nobody is above the law.... or at least that's the way it's supposed to be.

hahaha. believe me, if there's few people who should believe that, i should be one of them. it's just that a story has so many angles, you need to understand the whole picture to understand it.

and for the record, i never said what she did was right. could be tolerable, at some extent acceptable, but never right.

You think? That's not the impression I get from this and many other forums. There is an alarmingly high number of people who think what she did was admirable and I have read dozens of posts commending her methods. Probably the same people who thought Marcos was a wonderful president!

maybe because you read by the book and fail to read between the lines. when one said mirisi sa sheriff, is that tantamount to saying it is right? i do not think so. when someone said, maayo rag gisumbag ang sheriff, still not tantamount to make an assumption that whoever said that thinks it was right. when one said, sakto "ra sad" na, buangbuangon man jud tong sheriff infact kapila naman na nasuspend na sheriff, is sakto means right? or was it more of like saying, it is "acceptable"?

Read between the lines? That sounds like a dangerous precedent. The law is the law, it's black and white and a leader who conducts herself like that when saying she is tough on crime is being hypocritical. Her arrogant behaviour afterward made it even worse. There was no remorse!

violent criminal act? are you sure? if i were to pin point violent criminal acts from other officials this is not even what I call violent. With the sheriff being inhumane and not understanding does that make him NOT violent? He may not picked up a fight with the mayor but he was brutal by insisting on something that could have been avoided.

The mayor tried to talk to him nicely yet he refused, so if i was the sheriff I could have told him to refer it to court and not insist that its HIM who has the last say sa situation.
