From my vantage point, I really don't need to cope--I have my hands full with stuff, that there wouldn't even be room for worry, moping and/or coping. I always like to think of this analogy:

Let's say I was going to be locked in a room with someone for 24 hours, and all the room has is a table with several sheets of bond paper and two pencils...there is no TV, Radio, no books, no magazines, no iPod, no cellphone, not anything that will occupy a person's time. There won't even be food. In this situation, I know there is a good chance the person beside me will probably feel really bored, perhaps even go a bit hysterical or panicky, knowing that this room is so empty and boring, and in fact, the best thing this person will probably attempt is keep talking to me, and perhaps even get irritated at me for ignoring him/her. The reason I'll probably ignore him/her from time to time, is because I'll be busy sketching/drawing, or making origami, or writing a poem/story. In short, there are so many things to preoccupy me that the 24 hours kulang pa gani na sa ako, and I can even be so absorbed with what I'm doing that I sometimes forget that I need to eat diay.

If that empty room is a representation of "life without a god", then from my perspective it's not really empty, because I possess abilities that would occupy my time, and in fact I'll enjoy while I stay there. I do feel sorry for the other person who perhaps doesn't have my enthusiasm for drawing/sketching/origami/writing, and perhaps the best thing I then can do, is to try and teach that person so that he/she can also do what I do, so the person wouldn't be miserable while staying in the room.

    cool
i think most of the smart people would answer that

    actually akong buhatun kay kani

-if for example i am in a room same as like you, ang akong unang buhatun kay manawag if naa bay person beside me

me: ayo! naay taw diha?! yohooooo
if muanswer siya kay cool, lipay kaau ko kay di ra ako usa
if di siya muanswer then mangita kog buhatun, it's a waste of time man gud kung maghilak hilak ko

if naa man ganeh lain, magsgeg storya,
gikan sa basic info hangtud da tanang mahitabo sa iyang kinabuhi ako iask hahaha
    and vice versa

i think i always end up that way

yes wala jud pulus nganu naa ko ngadto pero happy ko kay nakasugat ko ug laing taw

ignoring an issue doesn't make it go away. you eventually have to deal with it. it has nothing to do with bitterness.

the room was never empty sir...God was good enough to provide you with a pen and a paper so that you won't be bored and a companion to irritate you so that you would feel a lot of emotions to inspire you to draw more and write more and to make you teach more and maybe learn more....you may not wonder about it since it is not in your perspective but come to think of it....the room was never empty in the first place..you just see things as plainly as it is and not beyond what it is.

an empty room is something wherein there is nothing at all except you. so what are you going to do in a room without anything at all? count sheeps?

I've been reading the posts in this thread and there's one thing I noticed---you guys are too self-important.

You honestly believe, that out of the billions of people in this planet, that your "creator" genuinely cares for you? How low of a self-esteem do you need to have that you need to be reassured that God will always be by your side to give you a better life? What about the hundreds of children who die of hunger everyday, does God care about them too?

Or could it be that God is punishing them, as "consequences sa ilang sala"?

Another analogy that musicians can probably relate with:

Say a musician was stuck with another person in an elevator that suddenly stopped functioning due to a power failure. After 5 hours, the elevator finally opens and when the two get out, the other person is probably already hysterical or miserable (his iPod's batteries also died out while in the elevator), perhaps even in near-tears... the musician goes out tired, but smiling, because he now has several ideas for new songs/music--his mind was busy during all that time inside the stalled elevator, and he didn't even need an iPod for entertainment, for an endless stream of songs and music keeps playing in his mind, ALL the time...

If life is like that stalled elevator, then probably like the musician.

Why would you seriously add that to my argument, when it's clear you INVENTED that thought just to MAKE IT APPEAR that there's someone who provided the bond paper and pencil in the room? Please do not twist my analogy--it's perfectly good as it is.

DILI KO KABALO MO MULTIPLE QOUTE

but all above mentioned coping mechanism specially the mentioned Freudian coping mechanism are all but product of a man who needs coping (God for whatever implication he may brings), excuse, etc..

sir rodsky, mechanically speaking you may be correct.. but the soul needs to cope..

to put my stand into perspective: for me, everything that is beyond the understanding of the human mind is God..
