Isn't it the other way around? Isn't ethics the very foundations for your religious teachings? What do YOU use for morality, the word of the Lord? Fear of going to hell? Fear that God might get mad at you? LOL.

wala may absolute morality... not even in religion if you study history.

Morality is largely shaped by society.

religion WANTS to convince people that its teachings possess Absolute Morality... but they have not been consistent over time.


Is killing people in the name of your God good or bad? The answer depends on which era you were born in, what society dictates etc.

I know the Catholic Church has since then apologized for its mistakes.... but how are we to be sure that it will not again apologize for its mistake hundreds of years from now on issues like its view on homosexuality or ordination of women as priests etc.

Actually, kung mag hisgot ug MORALITY---lupigan pa gani ang mga theists. At least ang mga atheists, wala sila'y "guide" like the Bible to teach them how to be good. Ang motivation for the atheists to do good are innate (not out of fear for punishment), while ang mga theists ma motivate lang sila to do good because if they don't, they might be PUNISHED by God for being immoral.

Ethics is the study of right and wrong. In the scientific sense, it is a descriptive discipline, involving the collection and interpretation of data on what people from various cultures believe. The focus of ethics is moral situations - that is, those situations in which there is a choice of behavior involving human (qualities that are regarded as good and desirable).

Unlike most religious leaders, ethicists do not prescribe what must or must not be done. They merely suggest what ought to be done.

So ethics doesnt conform with the Definition of Atheism - Concept of Atheism believe that Ethics or guidelines how to determine Good and Bad is relative and is purely Based on individuals own thinking. So if ethics involves Collective study of People or Culture therefore it is Not Relatives to each individual thinking thus is Not related to the concept of Atheism.

why do we have to exterminate the so called religion? everything has it own lapses. It is our fault buddies we only see the disadvantages in it.we are so biased towards the religion and by the way Religion is not all about being rational to know what is good and what is right.
