Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!
I am a DIE HARD Raiders fan, and right now I am DYING HARD.
They are an embarrasment.
They haven't been the same since Gruden left. The last year they went to the SuperBowl was the season after Gruden left, they were still running his offense that year too. It showed when they faced Gruden and the Bucs in the Superbowl and got smacked. Seems like the Bucs knew what was coming, because they did, it was still Gruden's offense.
Art Shell was a great Hall of Fame player and had a long successful career. I just think he is too quiet as a coach. I was in attendance in his first game as head coach at the Meadowlands in NJ when the Raiders faced the Jets on Monday Night Football, in fact, it was the first game ever for a black head coach). I think with all the "me me me" player personalities in the NFL nowadays, you need a coach that will match that emotion. Maybe it's just that it will make me feel better to see that SOMEBODY cares....
Oh yeah, I think having a quarterback might help too....hehehe. Not a smart move to pass Matt Leinert by in the draft this year.
Defense may wn championships but the one single position on the football field that can have the most impact is the quarterback.
I have and always be a Raiders fan though, win, lose, or tie... wow, even a tie right now would be great. UGH !!
SInce they took away Sports Plus, seems like have to watch delayed games more now, not live. So I have to stay away from the internet if there is a game that I want to watch on TV. I can't even watch a game when I already know the outcome beforehand..... but I did watch the Raiders Broncos game......hehehe.
Jay Leno is even making jokes about the Raiders... embarrasment. Get John Madden out of the booth..hehehe.
ThanX
Raiders and Broncos... John Lynch and Warren Sapp together again (Former Bucs) .. although opposite from each other...
The Raiders can take Gruden back as long as Tony Dungy comes back to Tampa.... stupid Bucs, they let go the best thing that ever happened to the team (TONY DUNGY)... and letting go of free-agent John Lynch...
But that was years ago... now, both the Bucs and the Raiders suck!!!! ...
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
.. yeah, that was the biggest mistake the Bucs made, i wonder why Gruden agreed to it.
Gruden wanted to be closer to his family in FL. Parents live in Tampa and brother is coach of Orlando (FL) Predators of the Arena League.
Also he has more power (organizational) in Tampa, he never would get that much power with Al Davis as the owner.
I'll take him back... hehe.
Stupid TAMPA fired DUNGY because he couldn't take them to the Superbowl ... Dungy took Tampa to 5 successive post-seasons for christ's sakes ... and established the best defense in the NFL for several consecutive seasons... they criticized his offense.. but what did he have to work onHe got TRENT DILFER for a quarterback!!! (although Dilfer did took the Superbowl the next season when he was with the Ravens).
And after Tampa got a bad season a couple of years after their superbowl season.. they disbanded a great defense.. took out great players from ther offense (Brad Johnson, Joe Jurevicious - spell check).

Yay, my Raiders finally won a game.First win of the season. Although it was against the lowly Cardinals !! Raiders dominated the game even though they had at least 4 turnovers and gave up at least 4 sacks. I wasn't sure if the Cards were really deflated after blowing that big 4th quarter lead on Monday Night Football last week.
Oh well, a win is a win. We no longer have the worst record in the NFL. We are 1-5 while the Cardinals are 1-6. Nothng to be proud of but at least we won't go winless this year....hehe.
Uh oh... Steelers, Seahawks, and Broncos coming up... I better enjoy this week.
ThanX
Tampa just beat the Eagles... 62 yard FG yo!
Favre got another win against the Dolphins

Raiders won their second in a row, or I should say their defense did. The Raiders' defense outgained the Raiders' offense with two interceptions returned for Touchdowns (one for 100 yards and the other for 24 yards). The Raiders' offense only gained 98 yards... heheh. But the offense only had one turnover and didn't "lose" the game for the Raiders like they have on several occasions this year (by putting them in big holes with numerous and costly turnovers). Can't say the same for the Steelers QB in this one. 4 interceptions for him, maybe he was still feeling the effects of his concussion a week earlier, or at least he is NOW...haha!
On to Seattle next monday night to face the Seahawks. This looks like a defensive battle again as Hassleback and Alexander (Seahawks' best offensive players) are injured and will not play.
One thing was though, I didn't have to get up as early this week cuz of ending of daylight savings time in the U.S. Got up at 5:00 am instead of 4:00 am to listen live through the internet. I try to avoid looking at the scores of the other games so I can watch the 2 games per week that have delayed broadcast on Solar Sports I want to watch without knowing the outcome, as if it were live. I watched the K.C Chiefs vs Seatlle Seahawks game at 8 am Monday and the Indianapolis Colts vs Denver Broncos at 2pm on Monday. Also since the baseball world series is over, they are now back to "Live" broadcasts of the Sunday and Monday night football games, so I watched those also. Solar sports is updating their website but they have a program listing for October posted there that showed the NFL games (teams and times). I hope they post November's schedule soon (although I know the Raiders will be on next week for sure, they are on Monday Night Football). If you are an NFL fan, you might want to check out the solar sports site and see if your favorite team's games are scheduled to be broadcast. Then if you want to watch it as if it were "live... just avoid websites that may show scores, or just avoid the computer alltogether.
@ezra.... sorry about your Bucs bro. Looks like their offense stumbled also while their defense played pretty well. 2 for 16 on third down conversions and 0 for 3 on 4th down. Windy conditions didn't help but I guess both teams had to deal with that.
ThanX
Celtic, he is out for the season cuz of surgery. He had surgery on his knee at the end of July. Requires 8 to 10 months of rehab, then I guess they will see what happens from there. It may very well be the end of his hall of fame career.Originally Posted by celtic_predator
