Mao ra siguro ni imong ganahan sa ilang nabuhat:
Dude, Marcos only became corrupt when he became Imelda's puppet. In the final years of his rule, he was too sick to govern and relied on his advisors. The advisors in turn used their delegated powers to ransack the country. If only marcos managed to stay healthy or assigned a trustworthy proxy it would have been a different story. Nigawas baya na siya sa Time magazine as the man who would propel the Philippines into Asia's #1. Sadly, fate had other plans for him and for us.

Even older people I know thought fondly of Marcos.

When a president is too dependent on his/her advisors that is a tell tale sign that a leader has no capacity or competence to govern. A good president makes his own sound decisions. Case in point, Cory Aquino was known to be very dependent on her advisors (wala baya experience). She was literally a puppet to her cronies. Sure, she made some headway but left a lot of other things hanging.

Let us not blame poor governance for the situation of our country mga bro. It is a statistical fact that the larger a country's population becomes the more unmanageable it is. Mas labaw pa if walay preparation and planning. In the final years of marcos all hell broke loose and we were not prepped for the next generation of Filipinos.

Sure, nindot tan-awn ang manila sa una but tan-awa pud pila ra ka tao naa? Plus that time it was done with the assistance of Americans.

Case in point: The Singapore PM once criticized China for its poor governance. China shot back at the PM by saying: "I would like to see you run a country of 1.3B citizens." WIN! Dili magtuga2x ug panaway kung walay ikabuga.

Singapore is 694 square kms. Cebu alone is 4,900 square kms. Manila 634 square kms but that's just one province. See the difference?
