It's the same thing. Theists feel that since they believe is something which is better than everyone, that would in turn elevate their status and make them in turn better than everyone else.
I know your trying to give the impression that equal ra ta tanan but honestly, religious people feel that they are better off than non-religious people because nag salig sila nga their God is behind them.
Why else do religious people think negatively of Atheists. Obviously they feel nga they are and know better than Atheists...
Again, Why do you still consider those books HOLY given the historical circumstances of their formation? Is it because you have invested so much of your lives in the belief that the Bible is the Word of God that you don't bother anymore to look at the historical aspect of the bible's formation? That in turn would mean that your faith in that Book has shielded you from all common sense and logic to make sense of the world around you and you merely resign yourselves to the thought that it is just simply greater than your limited comprehension.
that is really presumptuous of you knowing that you have never even experimented on a life without religion. Yes, there are people who are living a good life with out religion but has the human race ever experienced a life without one? as you said, it is because they were curious that religion was made. As you can see, man wants answers. They don't want answers like "I don't know."
Q of a man in a hospital with a grave disease: Am i going to die?
A: I don't know yet, we will see.
And besides, do you really believe that it can erase greed and pride or stop the poor from getting poorer and rich from getting richer?
And I thought you'd be able to identify a sarcastic remark when you see one.
You see sis, by that statement about you guys knowing what God the Almighty thinks, that wasn't from an agnostic point of view, but from a Roman Catholic's.
I am sane enough to understand that no one knows what God thinks. If you claim that you do, because yiennahs, then that's like putting yourself above in a level higher than every other Roman Catholic. That statement about being able to talk to God makes them think that, apparently, you have some special powers to make chika with the Almighty himself. And if you tell them that they did not experience what you just did, that makes it worse. In the modern world, these people have come out to TV and radio and told the world about what God Himself told them, and they end up looking like *****s.
That's why I despise some Church leaders who think they know everything about God. They use their influential power and this lie to manipulate the faithful ones.
But don't get me wrong, I've nothing against using one's spirituality to encourage another person in crisis. I know you mean well, but you better watch how you formulate your words if you don't want to sound crazy. Because if you keep that up IRL, other RCs who know better might hear you, might give you the high eyebrows, or worse, laugh at you in your face for acting like Moses.
Another thing, even if you say that God answered your prayers through some other way like, perhaps, giving you what you prayed for indirectly, it is unwise to attribute it all to God. There are circumstances that may have lead you to achieving that request. Either you yourself worked your a$$ for it, or some good hearted soul knew what you wanted and helped you out discreetly. Chance may have something to do with it as well. Luoya sad sa friends and family nga nitabang unya si God ra makadawat sa tanan TYs.
And if you give me the argument that God's voice is found in the Bible, then you will be subjecting the Bible to scrutiny again, just like any other religion debate. If you wish to go down that path, I'll leave it up to you.
When i read that 5% of the bible. That 5% made my faith even stronger. Imagine reading the entire book.
You people are just not looking at the right directions. Or perhaps refuse to look at the right direction.
It was not pounded on me since birth. (Lol)
I attended church. And learned every sunday as i grew up.
I listen, observe and learn. Thats pretty much it.
Base sa imung post, I think you Dont believe in God because you dont like the religious people. We are talking about God Here Not his Followers. You question the existence of God based on what you see on the Believers? i think sayop ka ana nga part bro.
But For me, all are equal in the eyes of God. I may disagree with your belief but I never condemn you or the other Atheist because Atheist or Not, God will Judge Us equally and he will have the Last say for all of us.![]()
