Personal knowledge and experience is different from economic numbers and statistics.

Notice that the more economically developed countries do not rely so much on religion. This has nothing to do with their respective faiths... it only means that the more economically developed countries do not rely so much on religion and therefore reinforces my point that religion is not as influential in educated and wealthy countries.
If you have objections to my point, please submit evidence disproving my point. First hand experience is very weak evidence.
I personally don't have problems with religious people as long as they do not let their being religious affect others who might not share their beliefs. Religious leaders meddling in politics like what the Catholic Church leaders are doing is misrepresenting its people. Let the people speak for themselves and voice out their opinion through surveys and their representatives in government.
