but just two decades, and look what science has contributed.

science has discovered new treatments like Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NRTI)

and that's, with no doubt a product of science, not a product of religion!

science has helped aids patients live a quality life like a normal person would do!

you have to thank science, coz without them, you won't be able to surf here at istorya!
    to add to this,

Those plagues that have killed millions of people long ago, the religious at the time thought this was punishment from the almighty... of course we now know it was a virus transmitted by pests and diseases like smallpox are curable/preventable with the help of modern medicine.

Sa una pang panahon, when we can't make sense of something, we immediately say.... that it's caused by God or some divine being. Even today, people still believe these things. Of course with science, these religious beliefs are relegated to superstition.

According to Einstein, God is "a product of human weakness".
read on...and had more research on what you posted...heheheheh

science did not discover it, we discovered it, with our intellect using science. It is just a tool.

people like you are using science as if science is greater than you. Science is just our discovery using our brains. If all people are dead, science is useless. If science does not depend on humans then dogs have been able to talk and trees have been able to walk.

Knowing that science is only limited to us and how we perceive it, it cannot explain why we exist.

without the concertive efforts and the extraordinary intelligence of the scientists, the treatment for aids won't be discovered.

ayaw na i-deny nga daghang contributions ang science ma'am.

it's not the people, IT'S THE SCIENTISTS!

the scientist can't make it without the contribution of the people who got sick with AIDS.

have you ever wondered why medications have always side-effects and adverse effects?
It's because science is waiting for us to discover something. It depends on us that's why we try to work on it and do some research. I don't know why your life depends on science when in fact science depends on you.

Yes. Science is humble enough to accept that it is limited since human beings are limited ourselves.

There are more things to discover and science is uncovering these things day by day.

If there are things out there then there is someone making them or have made them already and we have to discover it.
We don't know that yet and we can't make that assumption.... we can only make a guess .... frankly, we cannot be sure until we discover it.

By this I would equate Religious beliefs about the almighty to being a "guess" by man to explain what has yet to be explained.

If you notice the pattern since the scientific revolution, it has been science that has constantly been changing our view of the world and scientific discoveries have constantly disproved or reinforced religious assumptions through its methods.

    state of denial?

without scientific breakthroughs, AIDS won't be discovered

without science, treatments on aids won't be developed

and someday, there will be a cure for aids. and that's because of science!

    that's precisely it...

you base on facts but now you are still guessing.

i'm pleased with the way science have been working on.. really
but i believe that it' just one of our talent that we have to develop in order for us to live a better life. Having it does not eradicate the presence of a God cause as you said, you are still guessing. When the time will come that you will know everything, then that' the time we can erase religion. And that time, that we do not know.

    LOL.

So should we thank someone for giving people AIDS then?

The statement above does not make sense at all.

nope, you are in denial with the capacity of your brain because until now, science have not been able to really dig deep into one's brain. One day, we will discover the cure for AIDS, not just because of science but because we have used all that we have. ^^

i have never been in denial with science
until now, i even have some questions in mind that it cannot answer.
