As long as the woman is of legal age there shouldn't be any problem. The man does not need to be there, but it would be nice for her to have your moral support and if you have questions of your own you can ask the doctor yourself. There's so many different types of birth control out there each with it's own side effects. You should also factor in the cost, oral contraceptive are cheaper but are taken daily, Injections are more expensive but can last for months, IUD's and implants can cost a lot of money but last 5-10 years. It's important that you two have a clear understanding about your family planning. If you're not planning on having kids for years to come then maybe an implant or IUD is more cost effective.

it should be ur priority to consult an OB first..however if i may recommend a pill id go for either Yasmin or Diane..mao ni sila ang pina ka subtle ug effects sa babaye (pls note nga dpende gyapon sa hiyang ani ha pero dako nga percentage sa mga babaye hiyang ani nila) monindot ang skin and wla pd mood swings esp if off-pill ang babaye..

but then again consult ur OB first kay naa mana cla e ask jd and dha nka depend ilang e recommend nimo..

considering your age i think IUD is too invasive
injection...lasts for 3 months medyo mahal
dli kau ko sure kung maayo ba but my wife tried it
only question i have is what if dli siya ganahan
there is no way of taking it out

so i recommend the pill...try the pill first
Yasmin or Diane the best as per my wife but runs around 500 bucks
    malipong ako asawa ani...ambot ngano
Trust cheapest i think wala kaabot 50...same effect
my wife has been using it for years nah

before all this, just check with the OB
    nothing beats professional opinion and
    preventive check ups

I might choose pills or injection na lang tingali. Now, I'm curious to know if what are the usual/possible questions that we might encounter kung mu consult mi sa ob?

Thank you so much for your advice...
