How to get over "jealousy"?

How to get over? I think the right word would be - How to minimize it..

Jealousy stems from insecurities deep within.

I got two advices to you.. .BE HAPPY WITH EVERYTHING YOU DO and induced SELF APPRECIATION to yourself.

Never ever stop to appreciate the finer things in life. It's one way of minimizing the green eye giant. When you appreciate yourself more (whatever accomplishments you did or have), then you will notice sooner that you will also appreciate others for their individual accomplishments.....

I am happy with myself and how i have improved from back in the day. But those insecurities that you lock in the subconscious can pop in at the most random and inconvenient times.

Especially that insecurity you form from being an ugly duckling and even after successfully transcending from that phase and having enough attention, it just comes to haunt you like BAM!

I was told that "your partner will not be the one to destroy your relationship.. but your insecurities will" . Imagine my shock then. haha..

It's an ongoing journey, overcoming one's past.. but thank you for your advice.

I don't agree with the two reasons why people get jealous.

For the first time in years, because of unfounded jealousy, I slapped my boyfriend. I caught him hanging out with a lady I don't know and the rest is history. Jealousy, I found out was not because I was insecure about myself but because I lacked trust in him. I didn't really listen to his side of the story and just immediately reacted. I learned my lesson the hard way. I thought I had lost him after that.

A friend of ours made me realize that I was not really fair and advised me to really hear his side of the story.

Jealousy could be real threatening to a relationship. It could make or break the relationship.

Haha.. it's just a reflex , yeah? It's like an impulsive think that takes over you for one short instant. Even if you reason with yourself and come up with a rational explanation, that bitter emotion still lingers at the tip of the tongue...
