Yep. Juana will fit right in the mix.

Here's a thought, Juana ... instead of sigeg binayot and criticizing bisan nalang unsa made in the Philippines, why not join the movie industry and show us all how you will 'improve' Filipino movies. Kaya ni nimo? Aw I think kaya kay taas man kaha ka ug 'intellect'?

Maka-criticize man gud ka (although, dili imong original idea, di pa gyud matawag na constructive criticism) mura man gud naa mi feeling na naa jud kay ikabuga na labaw pa kang Lino Brocka or Carlo J. Caparas. So, ipakita ang imong ikabuga.... Duda nako kayo ra man mabuga siguro nimo.

Para lang gyud unta di ma-consider ni na thread as a waste of bandwidth kay duna na man daghan threads all over the internet that agree that movies made here are not so good, why write suggestions in here para ways for the movie industry to improve?

Masalbar pa diay ni na thread.
dili na siya pwede kay gamay raman gud ang mga bright sa movie industry. Dapat siyay tag-iya sa station. Low level ra kaau ang acting para niya. Such a noob idea. Why not apply in her station instead and who knows you might become famous.

since movie here sucks, it's time for a change.
let's phase out everything and build an enormous empire!

OO lagi bro but I need collaborators. Preferably, either an artist or a good writer to mentor me.

    Why Filipino movies suck?

    1. Movie making is a business. The profitability of a production will always be considered first by movie producers and movie makers. If the masses won't buy it, it won't be produced.
    2. Fantasy is better than reality. An illusion is much more easier to swallow than the bitter reality pill.
    3. Filipino producers do not make movies relevant to the condition of the people of our country. Country/community relevant story lines and plots are often shrugged as something not for mainstream viewers as the story line will undeniably be sad and will sometimes veer to grim. This alone can be expounded to ten sub-reasons. Some of it will be jotted down along the list but not all will be listed.
    4. The majority of movie goers prefer to watch something that they can understand. I have been to a movie with profound lessons yet there are only few people who caught and appreciated the overall message that the movie is trying to convey.

I do not wish nor want to conclusive say that majority of our so called educated and graduate population are shallow and less knowledgeable but in my 30 years of existence, it is what I am seeing and not much has improved. I am however fortunate that I am in a circle of people where they do grasp and understand the message a book, a movie, an article is conveying.
    5. There are a handful of intelligent people in all our circles, unfortunately, I believe they would rather watch foreign (not necessarily English) movies as it presents a much better chance of a better story - something with a good message, or something that is ten folds more entertaining than what our country's mainstream producers produce.

I have a lot more to say but I am tired. I'll see if I can revisit this thread again later and add some more thoughts.

Please do not forget to consider that from a foreigner's perspective, all of these listed here may also be true in their country.

wala nai rated R since there is a regulation (or a law) prohibiting its production. Dugay naman bro. Since before 2005 I think.

    OK. Hmmm....

How do you intend to do that, if for example, this will be your assignment and you are given enough funds to complete the job?

Show us how. Educate us, Tiger.

try to find an opportunity for growth. There maybe people here who can help you. You can also try to search on different aspiring people just like you. And it's also nice if you start to engage as early as you can. You maybe starting small but who knows, people might be able to discover your talent.

dugay na ni yiennahs. Since I was in high school. I just left it to keep growing in my head. Eventually nag evolve na siya but I don't want it to be that way forever. Basin pa diay mailogan ko.

Dili lang ni ingon sa panghambog ha but I once had an idea that explored the concepts of artificial intelligence. Before I know it, 3yrs later Steven Spielberg made the movie "A.I.". Although the story is hardly similar to my idea but the concept. Sus. Naunhan ko! If naunhan to nako I could have sued the bastard. :P

schlapsticks are almost always true in pinoy movies...

for example.. in ACTION MOVIE: there are so many dialogues before the hero kills the villain, such goofy talks are.. "MAGTAGO KA NA SA KUNG SAAN KA MAN LUPALOP..", the VILLAIN retorts back" HINDI MO AKO KAYANG TUMBAHIN____ , MARAMI KA PANG BIGAS NA KAKAININ..." The Hero cut back.. "KUNG MARAMI PA AKONG BIGAS NA KAKAININ.. SINASAING NA KITA NGAYON! MAGKITA NA KAYO NI SATANAS!"

    Wei??
