That is an incorrect and overly generalizing statement. I am an atheist--I still know what is good and bad, and I support the doing of good against the doing of bad things. Atheists can be good people, we just have no objective way to judge the conduct of those who are not.

First your statement is Self Defeating, You say do Good things - my question is Good based on what? where did you get your basis to say what you did is Good or Bad? is your basis absolute or is your criteria of what is Good only based from WHAT you think?

Second, I never mentioned that if your an Atheist you will automatically do Bad things. My statement is for the Belief of Atheism Not the Believer of Atheism. That since you remove the Idea of an absolute being, you remove the absolute GIVER of Morality and therefore remove the absolute basis for Good and Bad.

Before you say your an Atheist and DO GOOD things, define first Your Criteria of what is Good or Bad because for Atheism, morality is based on every individuals own thinking. You don't base your criteria of Good and Bad from those Judio-Christian Morality because it will defeat the concept of Atheism.

I have no wish to participate in this debate--my input is solely based on the fact that in your previous statement, there was a sweeping generalization--i.e. if someone found out I was an atheist, and your statement declared that perhaps a person like me has the aim of "removing absolute basis/guidelines for what is Good and Bad", then perhaps that person will now judge me negatively (esp. if that person trying to judge me bases his principles on the Judeo-Christian concepts of good and bad). My response was aimed at removing this negation.
