s****d people never follow the law. after all, they are blinded by word 'TRADITION'. perhaps you might ask why i know somethings about fraternity. i am a fratman. but i never understand what is the reason of inflicting pain on your pledgee. you cannot bring the persons character by beating him/her. what you bring out is his/her crap.

fraternity/sorrority are not bad. it is its members (undesirable ones) that makes things look bad because they hide their insecurities under the guise of 'tradition'.

hazing has been around ever since who knows when. if you compare the number of people who survived hazing than those who have died, the number is but very small; i am not saying it is a good thing. these deaths have been caused by irresponsible and careless people. if such rituals were conducted within reasons, none of these things would happen.

as what i've just said, the fact that this thing has been going on since time immemorial and some organizations are doing this also will not justify the act of beating a person. It's good though that you acknowledge that such Tradition, as how i can see it right now isn't good afterall.

Moreover.. what would it differ if statistics as to the number of hazing related fatalities is only a dot as compared to those who fortunately survived the initiation? we're talking about people’s lives here and not just any petty thingies wherein we can apply this principle of immateriality.. Fatalities will something be inevitable if such testing measure will be continually adopted.. IMHO leaders should take a strong move at changing their ways, otherwise be keen at choosing those people who will initiate it, i prefer the former though.... It would be nice if instead Physical Testing will be channeled to other constructive means like performing civic activities.. it's still is that physically intensive, but at the same time you're displaying a noble act.. kinda like hitting two birds in one stone.. wat'cha think??

Only 1 thing I can say about HAZING ..... thus it will be asked over and over again because of understanding it . Hazing needs to be implemented to see the members worth ( ASSET and not LIABLITY ) to the fraternity . Tough hazing doesnt have to be BRUTAL and VIOLENT , a lot of misconceptions are gathered directed to it . The definition of HAZING is not limited to BRUTAL and VIOLENT acts .

FK - bai ... it does not limit the brotherhood of what kind of person they are , the contribution they can make in general . of course I am expecting positive contribution for ther betterment of the organization and not the type that will bring the group down . I can be dealing and using drugs any time I want to but it does not constitute a bad image to my fraternity because I did it personally .

It is really hard to express thru words bai regarding the paddling thing if you doubt it and dont have the heart for it . Ive nown people who join AKP who also asked the same question why the initiation rites when there is something else . Less than a year , ive never heard of them or disappeared like a bubble . My point is , if ur heart is in the initiation to work hard for it , it is instilled in your heart and mind the importance of it for you to become an asset not limited to finances but of contribution of time and effort also .

what if there's this good person... who can give great contribution to the group, but dili niya makaya ang paddling. And there is this insecure guy, nga ang nahibaw-an lang kay inom, bugal2x, and of course isog siya, who of course kaya niya ang paddling kay dili siya ganahan sungogon og bayot. Kinsa man inyong dawaton?
