Single Or Dual Core CPU?

im going to build a mainstream rig(for my aunt) mainly just using single threaded applications(msoffice) including a little bit of games, im looking @ arctech's website currently A64 3500+ costs Php 6000(hopefully it will still lower down) and A64 X2 3800+ which costs Php 9700, since im really on a tight budget (php45000 including monitor,printer,computer table & accessories waaaaa!).

i understand im comparing cpus which is not on the same playing field but what im after is to fit into the budget since the x3800 is the most affordable dual core i can get & i might just be wasting it's capability if it can't be fully utilized later on but im also concerned it's capability within the next 6-18 months in case most applications might maximize using dual cores already....

im planning to just invest more on gpu,ram & a good psu...

if u were in my situation will u build a single core or dual core cpu?

Its better to buy the X2 processor which is much higher in terms of requirement,high-end, preparatory
for the next .......likewise your application demmand its suites.....right now Im using the AMD X2 so far
I experienced no less,very good processor(games,video editing)...... :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

dili pa na mawala ang single cores by Q1 next year Intel will relese theri Core solo a single core processor using the core architecture.

ngiga ud ana bay 4x4 ahehe. naa man sad core 2 quadro bay. i dont know if i got the right stuff but as fron what i saw recently from tomshardware. i prefer intel now a days.its leading gyud and they had already redesigned and innovatively improved there processors. jaw dropping ang performance. better go for intel.
