kanang sir wa nimo matobag ako question, you only said nga its not a novel no explanation why you think its not. gikan man na sa Mahabarata di ba? ang setting sa Bhagavad Gita is the battlefield of kuruksetra where Arjuna and Krsna had a conversation? Novel man gud kaayo ang nature sa iyang story sir so can you explain to me nganong dili?
The Bhagavad Gita may be a part of the Mahabharata sir, but the instructions in the Bhagavad Gita pertains to an individual's duty in life, what an individual should be doing, for whom his actions should be offered to, how one should live one's life, etc. In short, what an invidual's purpose in life is. Preha rgud sa Bible sir. Jesus' instructions and teachings are in the Bible, and yet, there are a lot of stories in the Bible. Matawag bah nato na nga novel? Dli dba. Ky ang teachings nya ug ang stories contained in the Bible teach a good lesson, or something to that regard. Similarly, the Battle of Kuruksetra happened because the Kauravas usurped the kingdom from the Pandavas, who were the rightful rulers. When Arjuna saw that he was to fight against relatives, kinsmen, etc., he lost all will to fight. Krsna explained to him why he must fight and what his duty is. That is the Bhagavad Gita. I'll quote Srila Bhaktivedanta Svami as to what the Bhagavad Gita is:
"Just what is the Bhagavad-gitä? The purpose of Bhagavad-gitä is to deliver mankind from the nescience of material existence. Every man is in difficulty in so many ways, as Arjuna also was in difficulty in having to fight the Battle of Kuruksetra. Arjuna surrendered unto Sri Krsna, and consequently this Bhagavad-gitä was spoken."
