as of now, dli ra man na problem kay can afford man mo, then he's doing well in school man gihapon, and okay ra man sad kaha iyang social life.. pero basin lang in the future manganad na cya ba.. basin nyag tanan niya i-try ug achieve kay buhaton niya para lang sa material rewards.. maayo na kung bata pa.. reward vs punishment man gyud na ang mindset ana.. pero kung dako na, dli naman sad maayo kay mao nalang reason niya mu-try ug do good at something..

do you think guys its okay for a 14 yr old to have all these new gadgets? we always have a deal that i dont mind him having those gadgets (i give it to him everytime he gets good grades)or giving him those gadgets cause he always maintain his grades. his studying now in siliman university and his a varsity there too. i never had any problems with him aside from his addiction to new gadgets. esp with the apple products. well i must admit i am addicted myself and i pass it on to him?

we lost our dad 3 years ago and now i am the breadwinner of the family,i am not too sure if i am doing the right thing,i just want them to have the best and make them happy which our dad used to do? and our mum doesnt seem to worry at all but is this really okay? his a very good kid and never got himself into trouble at school but i am just worried that this is somehow gonna be a problem to us one day? he doesnt even wanna sell his old gadgets he collects them!

his got the ps1,2,3, xbox,wii, 27 inch imac, 1st-3rd generation ipod, ipad1 and 2.iphone 3g,3gs and iphone 4.

he looks after his stuffs well and theyre all in prestine condition but his addiction with these gadgets are just unbelievable! to all parents out there,do you think this is okay? forgot to add, and a psp as well.

so what are you suggesting man maam?i should refrain from giving him rewards everytime he gets good grades? wont that give me trouble?he might not wanna study anymore and worst,he might stray with those bad influence kids?i honestly dont know,its very hard to be a breadwinner and my mum doesnt seem to care she always say its okay, cause we dont get problems from him so we shouldnt take this asa big deal?

there needs to be a thin line set and it is up for you to make sure that he still has his priorities set...worst case scenario is he might be doing things just to get those gadgets and he might expect that na lang for everything he does...

pass to him the importance of investing money rather than those gadgets that will lose value.

i don't see any issues on this as long as it won't have negative effects on him and base on what you wrote here he was able to maintain his good grades..

if I were rich like you I will do the same thing on my kids, just for motivation..
