this situation was once asked: you're inviting your friends for dinner. then expected nga ikaw ang mubyad tanan... then nangayo na ka sa waiter sa inyong bill. karon kay pagkuot nimo sa imong pocket, wala man imong wallet, unsa-on nimo pag deal sa situation?
my answer was this: kung mahimo, magchip-in chip-in lang sa mga friends.. or i'll call sa among balay nga pahatdan kog kwarta.. ang interviewer was not satisfied with this answer.. so i resorted into this answer: i'll ask the waiter or the manager nga kung mahimo, ang akong cellphone lang usa akong i-collateral. nya balikon lng nako if makakuha nako sa money sa among balay... disatisfied pa man gyapon ang interviewer..
kamo, unsa inyo ika answer? kay pirmi nalang jud ko gahuna-huna unsay tubag ana.. thanks..

IMHO, just be conversational and try to understand the question and deliver the right answer and also deliver it straight to the point.
