Ok...let's have Tagalog as our national Language but never refer to tagalog as Filipino

And I'd rather have english as our medium of instruction... and please speaking english instead
of Filipino ain't un-patriotic or un-nationalistic...it's just being practical
if we wanted to be globally competitive then let's be more effective and communications is one thing
and contributing to our country's development is way more nationalistic & patriotic than just speaking
our native tongue or tagalog

i'm not a fan of tagalog either but if it means being able to communicate with the rest of the philippines, there's no harm in learning some of it. hell, magtuon man gani ko ug ilonggo, waray ug suriganon! dialect gani!

thats because of the industry. Not all people or kids understands english and the market analyst look at that. Imagine if gamay ra manan-aw sa imo tv show kay puro english walay mo advertise diha sa station then wala kay profit. Mao gi tagalog na nila cause everyone knows na here sa pilipinas tanan tawo nkasabot ana.. just like gud if naay movie na chinese or korean then dili i tagalog subbed nila naa bay mo tan-aw?

Yah that's because there are more tagalog telenovelas and other programs...let alone the cartoons translated to tagalog.

And if you say so then...it's high time we feed or kids with english speaking shows

and bdway kids belonging to those class with most access to televisions can comprehend and susceptible more to english than tagalog on a nationwide scale.

dah suya ra na sila sa cebu kay mas linguistic baya ang cebuanos kaysa nila... we cebuanos can speak a lot of languages and makasabot ta sa uban kay more likely the same ra xa especially sa mindanao or other parts sa southern provinces.. but para sa northern part dli sila makasabot nato.... and sa ako sad nabantayan, mas nindot mu english ang cebuanos kaysa taga northern part...

as what my friend told me nalain daw xa pag adto nila sa manila before kay in math and mostly in other subjects we use english as medium of istruction. didto is ilang math is in tagalog daw. 0.o no wonder we cebuanos have waaayyyyy better english communication skills...
