i guess whatever reasons we may post to defend the accusation, it all boils down to the sad truth that Filipinos are rude at some point. Not all though but still there are. The website indeed was made for us to open our minds to the reality that we have been rude sometimes and we have been insensitive and racist. We may not know it. What is not rude for us maybe rude for some or even most. Our behavior has been affected by a lot of factors and i can say that ignorance, intolerance and poverty have made their contributions.

Ignorance to the law, ignorance to the rules, the proper etiquette, right manners etc. How are we to change ourselves if we don't know what misbehavior we have done? For example, the way we treat blacks. We are so blinded by what we see on movies, televisions and how other races treat them. We treat the unfairly while we treat the whites with adoration. There was never a rule that says Whites are better or any other race are better than the other.

Next is intolerance. The society has been tolerating us that is why we are abusing it. We cross on the road with no pedestrian lanes and even if there is a sky walk near, we choose to risk our lives crossing the hi-way. Most PUVs parks on "No parking areas", unloads on "No Unloading areas" and some even blurt too much smoke. If you're you caught you can pay. Money can buy almost everything.

And lastly, the broadest, poverty. How in the world can poverty cause us to be rude? Simple, we are too busy spending our lives trying to find a job or trying to go to work and feeding our family. This country is poor. I will never doubt that. We spend our lives trying to budget every penny we have. There are a lot of families living like this. Many of them are so overwhelmed by this problem everyday. So when you work, you have to take a PUV. Everyday you do it like this. At around 7 am, people are crowding, for example, on the MRT or LRT. Everyone is preoccupied to work and not to be late. You should never be late. You need the job. You need the money. You can't afford to lose anything at all. The easiest way for you is just to zoom in and try to get in the train as soon as possible. Yes that is not rude for you and you did not know it was. And you say to yourself, "well that's life". And everyday Filipinos with this kind of life goes like this. If only we had a better economy and a better life, maybe we would learn to appreciate our manners.
