janus, padayon man ka pakaulaw sa imung biasd logic. F nai judge? Bai wake up again! Istoryans here are the judge, wa ka kabantay ikaw ra pabulhot diha pero ang uban namatngnun na? Get real. Places like these are where people wake up. If you can't get that thru your religiously manical brain then you need more waking up or continue in your church of dreamland. Istorya is not a place for people like you with blind/idiotic faith. If u don't get what that means try to figure out why the religion threads are locked. Maybe you can get a taste of reality check.

the people in those threads? They're not even anywhere else. Murag purpose ila kinabuhi cge justify ila tinuhuan. Duda naghikog nato kai wlay purpose ila life nw.

If emotional ko pre what does that make you? Blind? Blinded by faith! Duda ko bai maskin ikaw d ka patulan pud sa judge kai wlay credibility due to bias.

My comment still stands: DO NOT ASSUME TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF THE PRIEST.

Mao na naglikay ka sa akong gisulti na dli pwede 'so be it'. Beggars can't be choosers.

Let me relate it for u. If sweldohan ka ug 6 figures imu employer naa paka balls mka.ingon ug so be it kai abi dako nka sweldo? Suwayi kuno.

Short quick response to Angsioco article
Here’s a short, suggested response to this nonsense:

    > The Church is not rich. By her logic, the Philippines is rich. And yet, why doesn’t she ask that the Philippines, being the 13th largest economy in Asia and the 33rd largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity according to the International Monetary Fund in 2010, with a GDP - purchasing power parity of $373.6 billion in 2010, yet sees 33% of its people under poverty line.

    > In fact, by that logic, then we should be demanding that the Philippine government, all the pharmaceutical companies, and even international organizations like the UN and WHO, or even large local companies like ABS-CBN or the Lopez Group of Companies, to dispose of all their assets, buildings, etc. and donate them to the poor. But presumably that would be wrong because these organizations apparently do more good to Filipinos if they are existing and operating. Well, the same could be said for the Church and more. The argument regarding supposed Church wealth is very old and very dumb. It’s not that you own a lot it’s what you do with what you own. And the Church has been more effective than any other institution in dealing with poverty, not merely locally but globally.

    > The Catholic Church supports faithful from all over the world. And each Catholic Church is financially independent. The local Catholic Church does not get any financial support from the Vatican or it's own diocese. Rather, it’s the local church that supports the Vatican. Besides, being a 2000 year old institution, it has accumulated assets, including lands or buildings, many through donations, of which many are quite old.

.... no pharmaceutical company or international org or government has done more than the Catholic Church in terms of charity, education, health and hospital care, scientific research, poverty alleviation. Bill Gates can actually learn from the Church on how to conduct charity.

    > In the US alone (simply because these are the easily available figures), the Catholic Church educates 2.6 million students everyday at no cost to taxpayers. But this does cost the Church 10 billion US dollars. Note that enrollment in all of these schools is open to all religious faiths. It also operates in the US 637 hospitals which account for hospital treatment of 1 out of every 5 people not just Catholics in the United States today, all shouldered by the Church....

pero ang kwarta nga ilang gigamit is gikan sa mga tao ra gihapon. What can you say about an organization asking money from the people even if they already have a lot? Or basin kailangan pa nila mangayo kay kulang pa ang billions? They only organize a help campaign. Not really shelling out money from the interests they got.

your link to the article he is referring to is not clickable which raises the red flag of glorifying one writer over the other. Always present 2 sides to every story bro. Or were you attempting to cherry pick this article over the other since christians are so notorious for that.

Also this guy is under the assumption that we want all of that money out, which in brokers terms is not possible. The question still stands: why is itsi hard to shoulder a fraction of that to help others. The writer is talking about the small accomplishments of the church when they are capable of something bigger.

if you don't like the Catholic church then balhin ug lain nga religion para walay gubot. then ask them about their money, pila ka million sab ilang gi invest sa uban corporations.
And if you don't belong to any religion then keep it to yourself.

If you want to "expose" the bad things about the Catholic church then remember that the Catholic church has been through worst. and it's normal for an organization to up or down.

But I believe in the Catholic Church, for it is tested thru times and I truly believe in my faith, even if some people like priests are not behaving well.

And it's not bad for an organization to invest their money in stocks since they need it for their operation. As I have said, go to other major religious groups and ask them how many millions they have invested in some big corporations.

and you ask, why are they asking for donations where they have enough money?

mura ra na ug taw, tan.awon nimo.. dghan kwarta pero kung ikaw cya.. you will know nga dako man diay ni siya ug gastohon. sakto2x ra jud diay iyang kwarta.

in short, you cannot really tell that they have too much if you don't know exactly pila ilang expenses. dali ra kaau ta maka judge about ana pero we really don't have the right, coz we don't know the details.. why not ask your local parish their statement of assets and liabilities?

and if you have the right kay mihatag or donate ka.. remember lang.. kung mohatag gani ka. yaw pag expect ug something ky wala nka mihatag ana, mi invest nka. ok? then ayaw na ug donate, hawa sa organization.

if dili ka Catholic, and you ask them.. how come you have millions?? then you don't have the right kay dili man ka part sa organization ug dili na imong kwarta..

still doesn't answer my question as before. So ur still implying nai right maningil ang simbahan pero wla sila obligasyon mutabang sa nitabbng nila? One word for that and you and janus just proved about the church: INGRATE.

Since storyahay man kaha ta walay right bai then who gave you the right to speak on their behalf? Naa ka right muingon ug balhin ug laing org? Masagpaan ka sa pari ana. Muna muna nla padaghan sa mga tao nila unya ikaw sayon ra kaayo mkaingon sa uban ug BALHIN? Lol

do not assume to speak on their behalf just like i have told religious nutjobs not to speak on behalf of their supreme being. Cronyism is still cronyism whether its politics or religion. So don't give that crap of double standard monologue. If ok ra sa imung simbahan mangdaut ug laing tao, pwes, two can play that game.

Ur church has been thru worse and survived? Reality check: it's not. Mao na g.invest ang kwarta ron as a contingency plan not as a sign of influence.
