Catholic Church has billions invested in BPI, Philex, San Miguel

Maybe you forgot or maybe i'm just too naive to know this. There are savings but what I don't know is that they invest their money. Sure, mangayo ug donation. Naa gyud nai excess, the excess you spend for another day. If kulang, ngayo donation (cycle repeats). Dili man pud na sila mazero bai maskin dili na nila iinvest. That's the whole point of the tax exemption of the church and NPOs, because they are not supposed to generate income. if your money grows that IS INCOME. Can the church still, in good faith, claim that they are a non-profit org? I don't think so!

Another thing, NPOs are AUDITED by the BIR and that all expenses must be liquidated by the end of the day. If naai sobra that would be deemed a profit and therefore taxable. If there is a discrepancy, heads will roll. The church doesn't have this kind of pressure.

But to answer your question, YES, dapat gyud ma zero by the end of the day (at least in the books). Well, technically speaking, all the money must be accounted for and spent where they were supposed to be spent.

Taxes are not donations bai. They are OUR hard earned money taken by force. And, yes, politicians DO go to jail if they invest OUR money for their personal gain (if maskapan) or they invest the money in transactions that are deemed conflicts of interest.
Don't compare them directly with priests bai. Most of all, the income generated by invested taxes goes the country's coffers. It is OUR common income. And you can honestly say bai that that money is OURS it belongs to the Filipino people.

You should at least have some money management and keep aside some for savings / investments. But why not use such profit and the returns of your investment for the good of your flock? Nganong puros man na mga airconditioned mansions ug luxury SUVs ang paliton? If ingon anah kadak-a ila assets and investments, why arent we seeing large-scale charitable facilities. Nakabuild na unta sila ug perting dakoa ng mga orphanages ug shelters or even schools for the indigent! Ang mga dagko na hinuon na gipangtukod mga schools hinuon na exclusive! Mga seminaries na di-ercon! Mga retreat houses with mountain views na parentahan! Tsk tsk. Priests should be trained as teachers and helpers of the poor, not frickin stock brokers, financial consultants, and business tycoons!

TS, Katoliko ka? How much do you contribute to the Church every time you go to Mass? If you give contributions, then you should trust the Church that your donations go to the charities which the church maintains, and they are many TS .. and billions are not even enough to make them float or working. Now, supposing you do not give Sunday contributions, then, why SULK?

Kadaot aning uban, they demand something from the Church of which they have no right at all .. being non-contributors! Ako, bro, I share my blessings to the church every time I go to Mass, and not only on Sundays. I am aware that the Catholic Church has shares in this or that business .. and that is good .. they put into good investments the help from people which will be , in turn, used for the many charitable institutions in this country and in the maintenance of Filipino missionaries outside the country...

Now, why put on the spot the Catholic Church? The contributions of the catholic laity vary from a .25 centavo to some thousands of some rich people .. Mind you that is nothing compared to the "IKAPU" of other churches: Dating Daan, Iglesia ni Kristo, Quiboloy's Church, Born again etc and etc .. No malice here my brothers christians .. Even the Church needs to put into good use the contributions of the Laity .. and this, whether TS likes or not.

Again, as a stockholder/investor, dili na pwede imo nalang i-withdraw ang stocks just for the sake nga maka-liquidate naka sa imong kwarta para naa ka gamitan. Stockholder ka kay you want to partly run the company / make decisions. When the business makes profit, naa ka dividends/share.. Mao to pwede nimo magamit. Dili kay ibaligya nimo ang 12Billion worth of stocks. Your practically killing the hen that lays golden eggs.
