LeBron and Dirk were both free agents last summer. You do remember that Dirk had "The Decision" to reach as well, right? Stay or go? And Dallas was not viewed that much differently in basketball circles than Cleveland back then -- a good, not great, team unlikely to get over the hump as presently constructed. . .

LeBron took his talents to South Beach; Dirk took less money to stay in Dallas.

LeBron made The Decision. Dirk made a decision.

LeBron quit. And Dirk dug in deeper.
