There is a fundamental connection in our salvation and devotion to Him. You cannot say that you believe in God and not reading his word. True Christians know that the only means to know God's purpose in our lives is by knowing it through his words which is only found in the bible! Nothing else. It was given and recorded by Godly men to witness His existence and to understand his intervention in the fabric of human history.

For the modern humans, it is like unto a manual where we can see ourselves if we still living in alignment with his will.

So the bible is really important in our spiritual growth and constant relationship with God!

thanks for finally answering my post... is this an indirect way of saying "People who didn't read the bible will not be saved"? Yes it may be important but is it necessarry? what about those unfortunate illiterate people aout there who can't even read ABC? Don't they have the right to be saved? If Jesus was salvation, wouldn't it be enough for people to be saved? What about the theif beside Jesus when He was crucified? to Mary Magdalene? To the NInevetis? Those people never read the bible and why were they saved?
