I am afraid that this is an incorrect example. Let us return what is this thread is all about. Glue-ria said that RP is no longer a 3rd World country and her premise is based on a per capita income of S1,400.

Now this S1400 per capita income does not tell all about the economic situation of the people. Per capita income is the average of income of every Filipino, thats what I understand about it. This is averaging like your grades in school.

For example, a SUPER MEGA billionaire lived in an area surrounded by low income squatter people. Now a computation was made how much is the per capita income of that area. PAg averaging sa income, wow, its shows nga daku ang per capita anang lugara. Not because everyone has a high income but nadala sa kahig sa SUPER MEGA billionaire.

Thats what happened to the Philippines today. How I wish I could post pictures of the reality that this country is far from graduating from its 3rd world status.

    OT  @istoryador:

Igo ka ato bay nga example bay? hehe .. no offense lang ha. Pero sa akong tan-aw after studying the HDI Index, it was only now that we are starting to gain momentum in the economy, from the time of Erap till now medyo wala gyuy ayo ang economy. Gloria was wrong in proclaiming that we are now in the "Second World" coz technically it was meant for communist countries. Pero she was right about the fact that indeed we are now seing economic gains, and this primarilly due to better tax collection and improved investor confidence. So I give Glorias administration full credit due. Kudos to the administration. However it would take years for us in sustaining this momentum to finally declare ourselves belonging to the developed world. And like I have always advocated, kayod gyud tas taman, mag kugi lang gyud ta pirmi.

You only comment on the last paragraph. I want to know about the other paragraphs as well.

Well, "rebuilding' is such a relative world. I have said my piece about this matter.

Well calling me stupid again... Well, if thats how you want to win, do it often.

.. you're whining now that i failed to quote your paragraph's when time and time again you brush away my questions; you can't even answer this:

give me your definition of development

Now, no name calling here please. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion after all that is what a discussion board is all about. We cannot possibly all agree on issues or there will be nothing to talk about. Just respect each other's opinion nobody wins or losses. There is no right or wrong answer. The government is confused too. Everybody's confused. If they get it right, someone will come up with a scapegoat why its right oh maybe its because they did some stupid things that is why they got it right. When they do something wrong they'll get scrutinized anyway and say its because they did not do it right, etc. So you see?

Too much heated passion in politics can make you lose weight but it keeps you smarter. Say it isn't so?
