Because it was God's plan, a perfect plan, and Jesus was in on it.
Jesus took on the weight of our sins but had no sin Himself. So death had no power over him.
In our own human understanding it's beyond us. If something dies it's dead, finished, the end, kaput. But to God it's different. He knows Jesus will over come death so it's a different story.
If you really want to follow Christ's commandments then you must follow all his commandments which include...
"Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
John 3:7
In John 3:3-7 Jesus answers Nicodemus that for eternal life he must get rid of his old self and become new in the spirit.
When you believe that Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice that washes your sins away making you Holy. A new you in the spirit. And you will be filled with the Holy Spirit and He will stay because your body becomes the new temple.
Following commandments is very hard on your own. You know the commandments. And Jesus takes it further in that you not only have to follow them in works but also in your heart. You may not have commit the act of murder but merely the thought of it already makes you guilty. On your own you could probably follow in your heart for a while... but all the time? It's really hard.
When you are filled with the Holy Spirit you are filled with the strength and compassion to do what's right.
You keep mentioning Jesus FIRST and FOREMOST commandment. I don't remember you even mentioning what that was... unless that was one of the parts I skipped reading.
It is "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
If you love the Lord thy God why do you question Him? Why do you question Him sacrificing His only Son? That is not loving with all thy soul and mind.
I am not jumbling words here. Why are you so focused on one commandment?
I've said before if Satan can turn you away from the truth with religion then he will.
He is a false doctor telling you in order to live you have to eat healthy food and exercise. Then you die because what he did not tell you is you really needed a heart transplant.
I am not her arguing to prove who's right. I'm here because I'm led to reach out and help you find answers. And the answer is Jesus.
Sorry, I am not a follower of the Catholic Church. If you've been reading the headlines do you really think they can give you guidance?
Can I sleep now?
