If its win32 or 32bit OS then 1gb will be wasted (although 1gb will be routed as a extra RAM for gfx, but its much slower compared to actual gfx RAM) since 32bit OS only supports max 3gb of RAM. 64bit OS can hold more than 3gb of RAM. But most games are designed for 32bit OS. I think you can have a module of 2gb and other 1gb to get 3gb.
There is a setting that can be set to actually get 4gb out of 32bit OS but you have the risk of drivers wont work correctly.![]()

mopalit nalang ko ug bago nga mobo and downgrade to a 500w psu and a gtx460se
