I think it won't be such an easy fight for Manny. Marquez still has Manny's ticket despite of Manny's winning streak in the welterweight division.

For sure Marquez will limit Manny's use of angles because JMM will be moving backwards and turning Manny for the whole fight as he did in their 2 fights.

If you can see how Mosley turned Manny... Mosley steps back and towards Manny's right. Although Mosley wasn't able to throw countershots but how he turned Manny really limited Manny's punch output. Mosley steps back and towards Manny's right side, this prevented Manny from using his left without exposing himself. That's why most people said that Manny didn't show his 'A' game. That was because Manny saw the risk in throwing his left hand considering that Mosley has a one-punch-knockout power. Manny wasn't taking it easy, he was just being careful. And Mosley did a good job of at least turning Manny and limiting his punch output. It would have been the correct game plan for Mosley if only he was still able to pull the trigger.

And also many people have criticized Mosley for not being active enough throughout the fight. Yes I believe that old age was a factor. But I think much of the factor was that Mosley was paranoid of Manny's punches that he couldn't see. Notice how each of Manny's opponent in the welterweight division has become defensive in front of him. Like Mosley said in the post-fight presser, Manny is a different fighter and there are a lot punches you can't see. Normally, the opponent's reaction is to be paranoid of those punches. Unless you're Marquez or Mayweather Jr., your normal reaction would be defensive and cautious - sometime too cautious.

Going back to Marquez, I think Marquez can do better with countershots than Mosley has shown because Marquez knows how to follow opponents very well. Like they say, "the best way to fight an ambush fighter is to follow him after the ambush". And Marquez is very good at that.

But I don't think JMM can turn Manny as well as Mosley did. There's only one guy who can do both (turning and throwing countershots) perfectly, and that is Floyd Mayweather Jr. - that is if he ever comes to his senses and face Pacquiao.

Yet I think Manny's right hand will be the key to fighting Marquez. He didn't have the right hook in their last fight. He wasn't also as good with feints before than he is now. And I may be contradicting myself a little bit but I think if Marquez follows Manny with counter-attack then that's the time Manny can use his angles and his devastating left hook. But I see the right hook and effective feints to be the key of the fight for Manny. Manny should only use his left hand for fakes, setup, and counter, and not as a weapon for attack.

But if Marquez proves to be too slow come fight night, then Manny could well just beat the hell out of him.

For 24 rounds, they were essentially equals to the point of there being no way to definitively state that either man won either fight, and in a judged sport, every now and again you get fights are so close that that happens. Of course that doesn't stop the loonies from declaring someone was "robbed," as if there was definitely no way to see a fight other than the way they saw it.

It was an exceptionally close fight and I find it more rewarding to focus on the fact that we got a great fight.
