for so long of peace and order slow kaau ang progress sa davao, might be that CDO will even compete Davao in terms of progress. if you take it into perspective, it should have been good for the city cause its peaceful and ordered but why not the businessmen are not investing in Davao? anyway, i give credit to our ex mayor cause i know he's part of the progress of cebu. i give credit as you give credit to your mayor as to what you said peace and order.

IMO, theres nothing to brag about peace and order because infact. Davao was bombed before, while Cebu has been peaceful for so long.

if you compare both cities, Cebu is better than Davao though it really depends on your preference.. i cannot discredit Davao as to not a good city to live in, but to answer the question on which city is better to live in and to explore, i think thats Cebu

i've been to CDO a lot of times, i have relatives there, but i dont think they are close to what Davao has achieved so far.

I do not know for certain why businessman don't invest much in Davao but there are a lot of good businesses there too. the first Marco Polo in the Philippines is in Davao. 2nd biggest Ateneo school is in Davao. They are also abundant in natural resources and picturesque spots, comparable also to what Cebuanos are enjoying here. Maybe it's because, fact, it's just the Dutertes that separate Davao from the conflicts of southern mindanao. Such also is our consideration why we didn't settle in Davao.

Davao has been bombed, yes, infact there are lots of mga minor bus bombings. But I can relate to those who says na safe jud sa Davao magstay. Seldom can you hear stories of robberies, of hold ups, of gangs out of control. Wala silay mga tipong Joavan didto. hehehehe. Wala silay mga gangs. Wala silay mga rugby boys. Seldom can you see taong grasa. Mas maayo nalang ng isolated case of bombing than everyday danger di ba.

Cebu on the other hand, is becoming a very dangerous place. Sa kadaghan holdupers, mga bantan-on na gangs na naa rag resbak, mga tulis left and right. But of course, these are also the consequence sa isa ka daku na syudad. Siguro 10 years ago, when Cebu is not as industrialized pa as now, maybe then comparable to Davao, same sad siya ka peaceful sa Davao. But a lot has changed.

Ako, i dont like the way Tomas opens his mouth. palengkero kaayo. but i think he is the type of person who can best manage Cebuanos. kinahanglan ingon ana na klase na leader sa Cebu. naay baruganan. we have to admit, security in Cebu is different atong naa si Tomas sa pwesto, ug sa karun kang mr. friendship Mayor Rama.

Cebuanos have plenty to be proud of. But let us also be true to our weaknesses kay makatabang man na sa atoa molambo kung irecognize nato atong weaknesses.

just a friendly comment, taga Pardo man jud ko but naa pud mi balay sa Davao, makasulti jud ko na grabe ang pagprogress sa Davao in the last ten years.

Examples are:
1. There are three new major malls (SM, Ayala, NCCC) in addition to those built in the '90s
2. Condos are sprouting like mushrooms.
3. IT-BPO industry is booming
4. The 911
5. state of the art traffic signalization. (with CCTVs!)
6. roads are wider
7. cleanliness in the city is much better than it was ten years ago
8. smoke regulated ordinance was just relatively enforced by the gov't and relatively observed by the residents but now it is strictly enforced and strictly observed.
9. the law on 2 a.m. liquor ban was not enforced and observed but now it has been strictly enforced and observed. By the way, this is national in scope but it is strictly enforced only in Davao.

With these, makasulti ko na substantial jud ang progress in the last ten years.

Grabe man pud ang progress sa Cebu in the last ten years. Mas alegre man karon compared before pero Davao City's progress is not one dimensional.
Just think of it, Davao City has a population of 1.4M pero kaya ipatuman ang mga laws and ordinances.

Sa akong tan-aw, both Cebu and Davao are exponentially progressing.
