My N95

Got an N95 this evening from GIZMO. I dropped by their store in hopes of comparing the P990i and N95 so I can decide which phone is really for me. Unfortunately their 990i and N95 are order basis only so I wasn't able to compare. Although MarkYap was not there, his sister was, and was glad enough to entertain my queries. She recommended that I get the N95 over the P990i - which I did. I got the Silver/Plum color combo but I was really hoping to get an all black finish since based on experience with my old N80 and the recent N73, black casings doesn't peel off. It's like the plastic that made up the casing was dyed black as opposed to being painted plum or coated silver - which in the long run would peel off. I am currently updating the software since the UI is slow as turtle piggy-backing on a snail. Tried the camera and indeed it took around 4-6 seconds before the preview was shown after taking the shot. The screen colors are a little bit washed up compared to the N73 and the N80. I guess this has something to do with the pixel density (same pixel dimensions with the N73 but bigger physical dimensions). Also, I'm still getting used to the different arrangement of the keys.

Thanks MarkYap and Liza for the best price on the N95. - for istoryans if you buy at GIZMO, the N95 would end up being cheaper than the N93i on other stores - REALLY.

Update:
I have already updated the software last night. What I did first was to fully charge then started updating. After the update I sync the N95 with my N73 to trasnfer the contacts, SMS, calls, etc. I also installed some themes. When I wake up this morning I was shocked to learn that the battery is already low. It didn't reach 9 hours and the battery is already low. I really hope that a new high-capacity battery will be available soon. Inspite all this drawbacks, for me the N95 a really good buy. This device is currently the only one that has the most features out there.

Update 2:
The included leather case, although is of high quality build kind of suck! The design (slide the phone into a hard plastic) CAN scratch the phone's case. Anybody know where to buy a good case? If I can't find a good case I will have to ask Mantaring to make me a custom case.

try looking in SM. i find more choices there than anywhere else. though try in colon. it may not be for your n95 but maybe you may find something that may fit just the same.. a small bag will do(that is if you prefer bringing a bag all around) cz thats wat i do. i presently have a small bag from nike(SM) for 2 of my phones and my primary phone in my pocket.

but btaw? your bat. didn't last THAT long? is there any battery conserving option in there? such as decrease back light brightness? or back light shutdown in pila ra ka seconds? or simply left your phone overnight on standby mode and STILL got low bat?

you it's true the longest time i experienced is one day only. The thing is I want the screen briight. this phone is supposed to have 16mil colors right? how can you truly appreciate it if I just set the brightness to default? the same goes to using crystal cases and the like... your phone is protected - true - but you can't really appreciate the design of the phone when you use them cause your phone is "hidden" from view.

question, did you have wifi active? and did you not close an app that could still be hard at work in the background (price we pay for multi tasking)? coz that drains the battery fast gyud...
if i use call & text only i get pretty decent whole day operation. only when i forget to turn off wifi after making voip calls or chating over google talk that battery drains super fast

for the leather case, it doesnt even have a belt clip (plastic sides is design to hold the phone in place, ur not supose to remove it anymore as not to scatch ur phone)...and the color sucks hehehe...
i have a belt leather case (black) i could provide you if you like...check out what im using nalng 1st basin maganahan ka...barato ra...200 raman perfect fit not too tight, not too loose...

by all means, bump up the screen brightness to highest...thats what i do and i love it!
love the screen...love what it can do! oh yeah dont hide it with crystal case or silicon whatever...

btw, dont forget to reboot phone regularly...like before or after you charge, just turn it off and on again before you go about your business
