    Default wifi router question

i have a netgear wifi router,,,,which is working just fine ...... just a little question though,,,,, unlike my modem which has a power switch at the back.....my router or any router for the matter has no power switch !!!! How do I power off the router? just unplug it? I wish the power cable had a switch to it. Its a real hassle taking off the plug, as it is plugged into an extension being shared with 4 other plugs! Please advise.

is there a special sequence to unplug the router..... like,,,,,,,, switch off modem 1rst,,,, then router,,,,, then pc?

i have my dsl modem and router/access point on 24/7. its only off when there are brown-outs.
for your question, you can buy an adaptor that has a switch (try ace hardware or true value) and plug in your router using that adaptor. you can also buy power extension cables that has switches for each outlet.

whats the 10A fuse for?? doesnt it shortens your pc or any accessories if you dont let it rest & it heats up!
i mean shouldn't pc rest to have a better or longer lifespan

my desktop is only on when i play. my laptops are the ones we leave on when downloading something. sure the modem and router/access point heat up but i think that's what they're designed for. i've replaced the 10A fuse with a 2A one since only the modem and router/access point is plugged in. a fuse doesn't shorten the life of any electronic device, it protects them from too much current (e.g. when there is a short circuit). this has been the way it is since 2+ years ago and so far, no breakdowns yet...
