I have a speedtouch 511e, but I'm not a globe subscriber.

Can I still use this unit? Will it work on my current internet connection (bayantel DSL)?

They say this unit is also a router. Is it?

If it is, can anybody help me configure it with my current ISP?

yes you can as long as it is pppoe or pppoa capabilities.... IT is also a router.....

first make sure that you know the username and password of the speedtouch. Second, make sure you know the configurations of of your ISP.

I don't know the user ang the password of my speed touch. Bayantel only give me an ip add. and a gateway. Before when I was with globelines, I think they configure it over the net. Do anybody have the web site? And how can I determine wheter its a pppoa / pppoe compatible?

511e is compatible with PPPoE and PPPoA. you can access the menu by connecting your modem to the LAN and on your browser connect to the link 10.0.0.138 this is the web based configuration page.

you should have the username and password from your ISP(Bayantel) since DSL or aDSL uses authentication for log-in. Speedtouch 511e is for ADSL only. Ask from your ISP what kind of service they are providing, maybe you're on a leased line or SDSL since they only gave you the gateway. Did they provide you with their own modem?

Yes, they provide me with there own modem. I see, I'll try to ask them what type of service they provide. If its a SDSL or a leased line, therefore, its not going to work right?

I've tried the ip add you gave me (10.0.0.13 it work. Then I changed that ip and something went wrong. Then when I try to open it (10.0.0.13, it wont respond. So, I try the recent ip, the one that I config, and still it did'nt work.

Does it have another default ip add?

Does it have a cd installer? Do you have one that I can copy? Or does anyone have the cd installer?
