    Default Hey Let's Spar!

Hi there, wala ko manghagad ninyo ug sparring ha,hehehehe!

pero in here lets discussed about the goal and the essence of these somehow misunderstood procedure of training.

Misunderstood kay naa man gud oban nga maulaw mo spar kay mahadlok kantyawan kay maigo nya daw cila then dili cila ganahan tawagun ug weak or botalo, hehehe!

Then naa poy oban nga pataka na lang pod ug wara wara sa ilang kamot ug tiil, then bira ug maau nga mura na patyon ilang club mate, hehehe.

So unsa man jud ning goal ug essence sa sparring? Is it really to show how good you are? Is it about winning all the time?

Basically, the purpose of sparring is to further develop and improve ones skill and technique and gauge one practitioner's abilities. Sparring is the closest thing to real fighting, so whether be it in sports or self-defense, gamit kaayo ang sparring in training.

It's normal for some practitioners to either feel shy or aggressive during sparring, labi na gyud sa mga newbies. In the long run, it teaches them patience as to when to attack and how to attack. They only learn it through sparring, sparring makes practitioners grow and mature in the martial art discipline that they practice. And sometimes sparring is a good ego buster too, labi na gyud sa mga hambugero.

^^That's where experience comes in. The gym or practice spar environment is different from the actual tournament/fight environment. You'll be more cautious because you're facing a different opponent, someone you're not too familiar with, mao nang mawala usahay kay magduha duha kung unsa nga attack ang gamiton, labi na gyud kanang mga baguhan. But for those people who's been into a lot of tournaments na, their confidence about their techniques and knowledge is high.

I've been there and it really feels so awkward when you step into the mats inig tournament. But as one joins different tournaments, in the long run maanad ra pud. Sparring polishes the skills, tournaments gives one confidence.
