As per my research, for 27.5/650B, They are the "best" for entry level trail/XC MTBs, and also base on the bike catalogues for Giant Talons series and Scott Aspect Series, they are somewhat counterparts

So question, is any of the two better than the other? If wala, which would you prefer?

Question, pila imo budget? These two are entry level bikes which i-upgrade gihapon nimo if ma addict naka sa bike.. Remember naay gitawag sa mga bikers ug 'upgraditis', mag upgrade or mag ilis ug parts bisan way guba.. Hehe been there, done that.. Ma doble2 ra sa gasto.. Try ug search sa facebook "Cebu Bike Merkado" or "Cebu Cycling" kay daghan quality used bikes didto.. Kana brandnew/builtbike nga 20-25k kay entry level pa na.. Whereas naa didto mga 20k nga high end na, usually 30-40k ang orig price.. Do your research and dont hesitate to ask sa uban bikers..

Per your research, low end ang mga impt parts sa duha.. either non series or altus/alivio ra.. Look for at least Deore.
Mao diay ni hierarchy sa Shimano parts for MTB bro..

4. Deore - for enthusiast
5. Alivio - entry level
6. Altus - entry level
7. Acera - entry level
8. Non-Series
